What's new

Would you rather have Hayward or Matthews?

I disagree.
G-Time can run an offense, and Matthews is not suited for that role.

I've lost my homer glasses for the day, but can still see Hayward is a playmaker. Wes is not.

And why Wes would need to be a playmaker when they have Lillard?

Tonight I pick Matthews. Check back tomorrow for updates.

If you swapped Hayward and Wes this year, Hayward would be putting up an efficient 16/4/4, while Wes would look like a bench SG. Wes can't create anything whatsoever for other players, and he can barely create for himself. He's a great 3 and D guy on a good team. Hayward would be a great 3rd option offense creator on a good team.

Although if it was Wes for 5 vs Hayward for 10, I'd take Wes, just because that's a damn bargain.

Wes Matthews at 5-6 mil a year vs Hayward at 11 mil a year

It's Wes and its not even close.

Woulda, should, coulda.... we heard same excuses last year when comparing to P.George. Homers were saying that given same minutes GH will produce same numbers like PG. We see how did that turned out. Enough excuses. If he would be that much better he would play like a star and not like garbage no matter the team or coach.

Gordon Hayward 2014 so far: 16.7 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 39% field goal. 37 mpg

Paul George 2013: 17.1 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 41% shooting. 37mpg

Pretty damn similar. Eat that crow.

The difference is that Paul George made a HUGE jump in the playoffs last year and early this season. Otherwise, he was the same player Hayward is now, with some better defense.

Your numbers are bad. Matthews is currently making 7 mill a year and Hayward is not going to be renewed at 11 mil a year imo.

Hayward is a more versatile player who can play the 1-3. Jack of all trades master of none.

Wes Matthews is a damn good SG. He's a deadeye shooter, doesn't do anything stupid, plays hard, and locks people down defensively.
