What's new

hayblurbs injury still a blessing in disguise..

Not right this moment. Of course they are now. I mean of a contending team, one that actually has a shot at a championship. Neither Burks nor Hayward will ever be the player that wills their team to tough playoff wins and drives them to a championship. If we are going to settle for either of them as the long term top option then we are settling for a 7/8 seed or 14th pick for the long-term.
The only problem I have with this is that they really haven't been tried. I could care less if a guy makes it to an All-Star game. Those are too commercial to really be used as a true value of a player's worth. I want good players who are driven to win. From what I've seen so far, Hayward (in past seasons), Favors and Burke are in that category. Without those three players, this team is competing with Milwaukee for the bottom spot. Burks has flashed killer potential and seems to have more upside than I thought he'd have. I just want to see him do it consistently with him, Hayward and Burke on the court at the same time. I have no idea what to think of Kanter because the playing time has been limited and sporadic.

I'm not a big fan of Ty Corbin. I'm hoping that they move on because I think that a different coach will get more out of this roster and take them further as individuals and as a group. I'm hoping that DL can get a guy like Popovitch who can maximize his talent. If he does, then I think they can be something special.

True. I just can't believe he hasn't finished project euler yet.

Heh. I haven't done any of those in months. Around problem 130 or so they started getting REALLY HARD. And I mean "need a math PhD to even start" hard. It was a lot of fun while I was still making progress, though. :-)

Is he out again?

My fantasy team is effed up with Cp3 and G-Time out.

To each their own. I'd personally like to see Hayward, Burks and Burke out there together before deciding which one to get rid of.

IMO, Favors/Kanter > Favors/Marvin. Burke obviously should be starting. He's shown that he's the glue that holds the team together (which is damn impressive for a rookie.) burks has shown that he might be a capable and dynamic player as a starting SG. . . maybe even better than Hayward (but it's a small sample size.) And I know that Gordon >>>>> Jefferson - right now and in the future.

Moving Burks into the starting lineup and shifting Hayward over to SF makes the Jazz better at two positions. I think Hayward would actually be great off the ball and in transition at that spot. He's a better shooter than Burks and can spot up off the drive. Defensively, that lineup worries me. . . But I'd like to see them try it before deciding that it just won't work and blow it up instead.

I checked out that site...man is it addictive. Just spent almost 2 hours after work doing 10 problems. I give you props for getting up to 130, very impressive.
