Hayward Rookie Comparisons

By the way my boy Larry Sanders almost had a triple double in only his second start of the season. 8 blocked shots. Just staying.
He was also BY FAR the worst player on the court when the Bucks faced the Jazz. All he could do was commit fouls and get his **** stuffed.

Premature bust

Before we pronounce him a bust prematurely, as many on this board are wont to do (Deron -- too fat, too slow, wasted pick, Paul better, yadda yadda), we should remember one game that gave us a glimpse of his potential: Oct. 17 against the Lakers at the Staples Center. Hayward's line: 8-10, 26 points, good defense and rebounding. It may have been an aberration, but at least for one night he looked great.

Evans has outplayed Hayward but people forget Evans is 23 years old and Hayward is only 20 years.

Yeah, he looks so much better in his 3 minutes of garbage time as opposed to Hayward and his 2 minutes of garbage time.

3rd post huh? Hmmmm. Something is fishy here.

He is fine. He is a rookie and hasnt played hardly any at all. Nothing really to expect from him at this point. Plus we dont need him, so why stress on it? Let him figure out he is in the NBA. I think he will be fine when we need him.

I've been pretty underwhelmed. I thought he would get off to a better start, but this is pretty much worst case scenario so far. Ironically, the Knicks second round pick might better than their/our first round pick.

Yup, he's already 17 games into his NBA career. It's definitely time to write him off.
Waive Hayward and pick up Sean Williams.

Similarly, in the NFL, Troy Williamson has recorded about 1,500 yards in just 16 games...albeit pre-season games but that doesn't mean much. The fact is he's showed he can play.

In preseason? And his one good game in preseason?

Ironic indeed.

I miss it when the NY pick was still a pick.

A. Showing consistant hustle will get him more PT that how many shots he can jack up in limited minutes.

We used to take tards to college games for their consistent hustle, effort, team spirit, etc. But we didn't ask coach to put 'em in. Well, maybe we did when Ronnie Price went off for 30-something and blew it wide open.

B. way more mature mentally.

So are plenty boy geniuses.

I still like the pick, he hasn't showed much because he hasn't had the opportunity to. Gordo will be just fine
