Trade Favors/ Keep Kanter

I love Gobert's length and he is a guaranteed block shot when he gets minutes. Gobert has great potential defensively, but he is light years from being ready offensively. He gets pushed off the block to easily and he doesn't seem to have the greatest hands.

Gobert w/ Kanter might be something in a couple years, but right now they are just too inexperienced.

Favors and Gobert would still need Gobert to improve a lot in terms of BBIQ, but would also need Favors to not be an at the rim player, which is where Favors gets like 90% of his points now.

If gobert develops though, spot minutes off the bench would just be stupid, and bringing a developed Favors or Kanter off the bench for spot minutes would be a waste of their value since that role is easily serviceable by a vet who will make a lot less. I think the perfect counterpart of a fully developed Gobert would be Kevin Love, or someone like him.

To be honest, I don't get why myself and others are so high on Kanter. We talked trash about Al Jefferson the whole time he is here. And now we have the exact same type of player in Kanter, and we jump for joy. Strange IMO.

Its due to age.
Kanter is 21
Al was what, 26, 27, 28?
Also al was making like 14 million a year and kanter is at what, like 7 mill?

we would have been jumping for joy if big al was putting up the numbers he did as a 19, 20, 21 year old making half as much money as he was

I don't think he has to be a really good offensive player to be useful and valuable. i see him being something like a Joachim Noah: a defensive disrupter who gets a few points from opportunities for put backs and dunks. Paired with some good scorers, that would suffice since he could dominate on defense.
