Agree completely. We still have NO idea if Favors, Kanter or both are going to work for us. THIS was the season to find out, to light a fire under them defensively, to say to %^$& with offense, here is our defensive scheme and both of you need to concentrate on that. Instead, who knows what the Jazz are supposed to be doing on defense, Kanter has gotten inconsistent minutes, and we still don't know if they can play well together.

IMO, Jazz need 1) a new head coach; 2) an assistant devoted EXCLUSIVELY to defense; 3) a full-time bigs coach.
 
Why not just accept that we can have one player with exceptional defensive ability and one on the offensive end they should be able to compliment each other.

His minutes have fluctuated, sure. He's still in the top 100 in minutes played in the NBA, along with Hayward, Favors, Burke and Burks. At least this ******** about young player minutes has died down some on this site.

Perhaps poorly stated. He goes from being a starter, to being the scapegoat for a team that was devoid of PG's. He's also been blamed as the reason the Jazz have such dismal record without Favors.

If you look at his game logs, his mins average has climbed largely because of the last 30 days. Prior to the trade deadline, his PT bounced around quite a bit, getting high 20's and 30's one game, then in the mid teens the next. And that wasn't due to foul trouble.
 
To be honest, I don't get why myself and others are so high on Kanter. We talked trash about Al Jefferson the whole time he is here. And now we have the exact same type of player in Kanter, and we jump for joy. Strange IMO.

well to be honest Kanter is not anywhere close to Big Al's level yet. But we have a saying in our country - hope is mother of the idiot.

The major difference is that Big Al is established. Kanter still has a chance to become more.

Keep them both and see what an actual good coach can do with them. Remember when we had a good coach? Man, those were the days.
