Political Compass Test

It's not too hard actually.

Do you value human life above anything else?

The answer to that is a clear No. That is, I think there are things worth dying for, such as liberty, freedom, and the protection of our country. Where I'm torn is whether the death penalty serves to accomplish those ideals. Part of me says yes, part say no.

does right mean conservative and left mean liberal?

Also does conservative mean rupublican and liberal mean demacrat?

I think im correct but im not sure..... i know nothing of politics

I see it as:

Bottom is liberal and top is conservative on social issues

Left is liberal and right is conservative on economic issues

Most democrats would be in the bottom left quadrant and most republicans would probably be in the top right quadrant. At least, I think so.

I don't think it is an interference for valuing human life above anything else. Anyone with common sense and also faced the actual untimely death of somebody else would realize that most of the ideals worth dying for are nothing, if they don't actually intend to protect human life. What is the soil you step on without its people? What is the church building you go to without its priest and community? What is the meaning of war, if your side is the one flaring the fire up? Anyone who values human life above anything else would die for those humans' lives if there was a case of clear and concrete threat from another, and kill the other in order to secure their lives who he found closer. That doesn't have to mean he did not care for human life. That means he did.

This might be true of the general population but I think most politicians from both parties are in the upper right.

I should be further down because asking me if I think something is immoral is not the same as asking me if I think the government should do something about it. But whatever.

Looks like I'm aligned with Marty Friedman, former lead guitarist of Megadeth:

I am very close to the Ghandi/Hitler intersection.

I just figured Utah would be more conservative.

/Conservatives are too busy actually making money to post on message boards?

Chalk it up to the devolution of Mormon badassery. Just look at the Bundy topic. Mormons went from bad *** explorers that would fight the government at every turn like Joesph Smith and Brigham Young......to tampon string pulling government worshipping ******* like Harry Reid, Troutbum and The Thriller.

Girl, please. I am far from a government worshiper, and even a cursory glance at my posts over the years will show you that. I can see, however, why you might think I am because I usually back the governments side of most arguments. That doesn't mean I am pro-government, it is mostly that I am anti-stupid people. The Bundy situation is a perfect example: pay your fees like everyone else, or you get in trouble. If you want to fight it, do it through the courts (which he did, and lost. Several times.). The guy has had 20ish years of warnings and second chances, but instead of doing the right thing, he chose to carry on with the abortion that we've all been talking about the last week. I support the Feds 100% in this one and not the guy who thought he was better than everyone else.

I think you'll find that this is the case with most of the political/whatever this is discussions are like.

I am Anti-Idiot, through and through.

I hate agreeing with Trout.

I had a big conversation about this recently about Joseph Smith. Wasn't he pretty liberal by today's standards?

Gave priesthood to AA.
Ran for President where his platform was to free slaves
Had multiple sexual partners
Made his followers engage in communism for a time (law of consecration)
Tried to control the banks/money of Mormons
Rumors that he allowed women to give blessings (priesthood)

How different would the Church be today if Joseph Smith hadn't been shot in Illinois, but instead led the saints to Utah? Very interesting stuff.
