What's new

Ford Mock 4.0- Joel embiid

hahahaha at exum sliding into the top 3.

what a joke.

darko 2.0

calling it.

you can come tell me how right I was in 2yrs.

The Jazz aren't picking to solve the last piece of the puzzle. They will pick best player available and increase the talent pool regardless of position. Big men are always harder to get than wings and points.

Bigs are the easiest position to fill in today's NBA.

hes like a trap to see what GM is stupid enough to bite.

I'd take smart over exum anyday.

Have you seen Exum play?

There several players in the league that have come through the Austrialian Institute of Sports. Bogut comes to mind first.

Have you seen Exum play?

yes.

dribbles only with his right

overated leaping ability

overated first step. (he looks quick vs white kids in australia)

has trouble blowing by defenders

his shot sucks

+ decent passing ability.

and dont bring up that fiba u19 nike challenge b/c enes kanter set a scoring record there and look at where he is at now.

you want to compare exum to a jazz player? alec burks. But not as fast as burks.

Agreed but not because of his ceiling. Tyrus Thomas had a high ceiling but had no clue how to play the game. Embiid already has shown a feel along with immense potential. I'd be shocked if he were around at 4 (assuming his back checks out). If he was and we took him, it would be interesting to see what DL does with Kanter/Gobert - if anything.

Ok, lets say literal ceiling then. 6'9" 215lbs guy with a high ceiling < 7' 255lbs guy with high ceiling. But I think you know what I meant. TT reaching his full potential is an all-star in a certain era, Embiid reaching his full potential and you're talking super-star/HOF'r.

Maybe we ought to see what Kanter can do with a new coach before we start talking about trading him. Kanter's motor and offensive potential might trump Favors' defensive upside.

Especially with a true 5 in the middle...and a defensive one at that. Both are very raw, but imagine Embiid and Gobert splitting time at center. Gives me a tingly feeling thinking of all those blocks and altered shots.

I don't know why everyone is saying Kanter or Favors would have to be traded. Give Hayward a SUBSTANTIAL raise and the Jazz still have a MAX contract slot under the CAP, even slotting in the draft picks and roster fillers. Give Alec and Kanter contracts and the JAzz are still well under the luxury tax.

The financial concerns only come into play when Favors and Hayward are up for new contracts at the same time as Burke and Gobert and then the next season, our pick(s) in this draft. Jazz will have to make some trades at that point (or let contracts expire). But until then, the Jazz can keep everyone. They wouldn't have room to go out and sign a lot of FA's...only 1-2 near the vet minimum. But they wouldn't need to. They'd have their bigs, get at least another wing or PG in the draft and then probably add another veteran wing on a short-term deal.
