What's new

Jazz reaction to the Sterling ban.

[size/HUGE] boobs [/size]. NBA is Russophobes and reverse racist in total. It take legal threat for Prokorov to get ownership. They do not sell team to knew owner that is no black man or from country minor.

but twitter and facebook are public ;)

Ok, let me make the comparison to a sex tape that is made in the privacy of your own bedroom, with the expectation that your lover will keep it to him/herself. It then gets leaked to a website after you've done something to either piss off that lover or maybe just because that person can gain financially from it. Now a private action has entered the public domain. Some companies won't care, but some will fire you. The NBA has a clause allowing the other owners to act for cause. By purchasing an NBA team, Sterling agreed to abide by the bylaws of the league. He'll sue, of course, and drag this through the courts for a few years. But he'll lose. Heck, the old guy has prostate cancer; maybe he'll even die before it's resolved.

Of course he is. He'll be dead before this thing is resolved.

Nightmare situation for the NBA and the Clippers, frankly. A tenuous ownership situation is crippling for a pro sports franchise. A league appointed "CEO" to run a team is a bit of a disaster (see the blocked Chris Paul trade). I think we could see a personnel exodus from the Clippers.

9erute and dutch have shown me the errors in my ways now I know that:

What I thought was slavery, being dragged from your home/country, spending weeks and weeks on a boat cramped in a confined space standing in yours and others *****, where you are barely fed and kept hydrated. Once the boat docks don't worry it gets better you and your family get auctioned off and likely never see each other again, oh but wait the people that purchased you are awesome right. They only force you to work any and every job no one else wants to do that is also back breaking manual labor that you get to do all day everyday. Oh but wait you can leave right, well if you want to get beaten, killed and or raped sure you can try to leave. Oh but wait after a few years you've payed off that free boat ride and can leave right, oh except for the fact that it was for life or until you are to broken down physically to work and generally are worked to death.

Now I really know the following is the same as the slavery Sterling has been forced to endure. He got to voluntarily buy a NBA basketball team because he was a billionaire, man that sucks. Then he was forced to make money hand over fist for decades from this NBA franchise and it's sponsors, oh the horror. Then those tricky NBA people have a code of conduct a constitution that they let you voluntarily sign (those **********) if you want to be a part of making millions upon millions of dollars and become celebrity and have your name out in the media when otherwise no one would even know or care who you are. After they some how tricked him into voluntarily signing this constitution aka signing his soul over to the devil, after years of being the worst owner doing and saying stupid things he still got to keep making all this money and own the franchise.

So no owner in this NBA (aka slavery ring) has ever been forced out and so you'd have to be a record breaking idiot to be forced out, there is no end in sight for this poor poor man..... oh wait... Only after years of this behavior and being caught saying extremely stupid comments that demean the very people making you all this money is he forced to sell this franchise and in doing so he will make something close to 1 billion dollars. SON OF A BITCH!

Yep now I know what true slavery is, thanks you 2, how could I be so blind.

To damn long to read... If your with me great if not you are obviously a commy.

"I guarantee every person wouldn't be on board with that. Whether I would or not, I'm not going to say." - Doc on Shelly Sterling

This is madness. Who cares if the players or the coach are not on board. She owns an interest in the team. Donald was banned because of his words, I get that. But forcing him to sell the team was going to be a stretch, and forcing others who own an interest seems impossible.

Maybe the nba franchise agreements are really really well written in favor of the league, but I would be surprised if she she is forced to sell.

slavery is also not being fre.

i specifically pointed to not having freedom to say whatever the f you want in the privacy of your own home.

Please explain to me how Sterling's freedom to say whatever the f he wants in the privacy of his own home has been abridged.

Let's say that my daughter has a African American friend over, her father is a business associate of mine. Thinking that my daughter's friend is not listening, I say something to my wife calling this girl's father a damned n-word. The friend overhears me and tells her father. He subsequently decides not to do business with me anymore. Has my freedom to say whatever the f I want in the privacy my own home been abridged?

Too many people think freedom to say or do something means freedom from any consequences. That is simply not the case.
I'm free to go jump off the overpass if Lindsey hires Boylen. Unfortunately, I'm not free from the law of gravity, nor from the force of a truck coming at me at 70 mph.

but you wont lose your property in that scenario

He's not "losing" his property. The NBA hasn't seized his assets. They're forcing him to sell and make a nice tidy profit in excess of $500M on his investment. If he plays his cards right and promises not to sue, the NBA would likely find a buyer to step in and pay above market price. Wish I could be so fortunate!

The elder Miller kicked Dee Brown to tea simply because he had kids and no wife and was a bad influence on Deron when Dee had never had a question mark on his character. Borderline racist.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way is that Dee Brown sucked.

I thought you were going to leave once the Warriors lost the series. Too bad.
