Width. This is pretty common terminology. Beal has the frame to carry more weight/muscle.

So Charles Barkley has a bigger frame than Dikeme Mutombo.

Personally, I find that pretty odd to say out loud. Also, terminology used like that isn't really common around my parts.

Yeah honestly there is 30 different ways to describe this more aptly. GVC is just being difficult probably to struggle for some sort of moral victory or something.
Jesus. My initial point was that Gordo-Alec are physically overmatched as starters at the 2 and 3.

I even explained what I meant before you and fish questioned it:
He doesn't have the frame to carry the bulk needed to defend physical wing players. Look at how solidly built Bradley Beal is. Yes, they're around the same weight, but that's largely a function of Alec's height and length.
Guessing you didn't read that. Par for the course.

And, again, frame size is a well understood concept. Go ahead and google it.

victory is his.... i concede.

(I had pulled out my dickish stubborn side and played my own prideful role as well tbh)

Sorry to gvc for half assed trolling you

To gvc credit, i dont think he ever got personal or started name calling.

No, I did read that-- and for the most part I agreed with it, otherwise I would have called it into question.

Making assumptions I see. "Par for the course". My posts in this thread have been simple, and straight-forward-- kinda baffled as to how you're stumbling to address them.

So if I ask 50 people who has a bigger frame: Mutombo, or Chuck, most of them will answer Chuck (despite the height difference) because he is wider.

Lol.

Then why pop into the thread at all? I explained that it was a matter of being able to carry bulk/weight/strength. Do you pride yourself on being pedantic? Willfully ignorant (since you apparently read my explanatory post)?

Would be awesome if you actually had something substantive to contribute.

It's comical that people think if Thibodeau coached this team last season, that they'd be 30th in the league defensively.

Wouldn't it be great if Thibs brought his grand defense to Utah so we could watch a team that is dead last in offense? That would be super.

Recently, he made a bold, second-round prediction about the Portland Trailblazers.

Utah was ranked 25th in offense under Corbin last season (scoring). Worth the trade off for the 30th defensive spot imo.

And Thibs ranked dead last in ppg. You want to trade a small amount of defense for even worse than 25th in offense?

This is a classic JF example of not understanding bball basics while overestimating coaching and underestimating talent/team balance. There are two sides to a basketball court -- increasing presence on one end leads to decreases on the other. Thibs isn't some god that can change this simple fact like most small market Jazz fans think he is.

In Thibs defense, he didn't really have a lot to work with on offense.

But I kinda understand Franklin's assessment. It would have been impossible for the Jazz to have a good defense this year given how incredibly inept their offense was. Tough to evaluate how good your team's defense is when you are constantly chasing people on fastbreaks and getting crossmatched after bad shots.

I think Thibs is a good coach, though
