Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday? Well, yes. JazzFanz.com turns 15 years old on Saturday, May 31st. That's right - I think we've made it through puberty ... almost!

We are at that awkward stage when we dad gets to drive us around on dates while listening to his 90s music! Our braces were supposed to come off in February but haven't because our orthodontist is milking this cash cow. Lagoon might hire us but we don't want to pick weeds and plant flowers in the heat because, you know, the "older" kids get the good jobs. Of course, we spend most of our day playing Titanfall while drinking Mountain Dew in our buck twenty (that's 120) frail frame.

When we were born the cost of a gallon of gas was $1.14. The world was home to only six billion people - today it is seven billion. The US women won the World Cup (see below). The Backstreet Boys just released their third album, Millenium, with the hit "I Want It That Way". And, of course, the Jazz had just finished their best three year stint as a franchise including two trips to the NBA Finals.

Anyway...

Thank you to all of you for contributing to JazzFanz today and over the years. While many of those that were around early on may have left, there are a few still here with over ten years of dedication! You've turned this once college project for an HTML class into a big part of my life. I'm grateful for all of you ... almost! :)

Thank you again!

I'm glad I came back around and started contributing again. I think most of the folks here on the board are good people.

Jason can you tell me how long I've been on the board?

Thanks for giving northcoloradojazz a place to spew hate about the team we all love.

Seriously though, i love jazzfanz and have met alot of cool people from this site. (Including the godfather and site owner himself, jason)

Unfortunately no. Unless you've only been here since the crash then your join date is listed in your profile.
Even had we not crashed, our time at RealGM and Rivals.com (remember that anyone?) would have prevented your account from showing a true join date.

it has been easily a decade (at least), Vinylone-Jon.
I have been around since 2003 or 2004, and I think you were a frequent contributor back then, even prior to that.

This site was on Rivals? That I don't remember, and think was before my time here.

I was here in the RealGm days. My signup day for that site was October 20, 2001. So I've been around that long. Though me and Colton were usenet (alt.sports.basketball.nba.utahjazz, or something close to that) guys back in the late 90s...those were the days.

Yeah, I don't remember any connection with Rivals either. I went from usenet to RealGM to jazzfanz. I joined jazzfanz within a few weeks of its formation, I think, but I didn't join on Day 1 because I wanted to see whether my favorite posters on RealGM stayed or left. Most left for jazzfanz, so I did as well.
