Draftexpress does good job as always looking into that matchup. After watching it is obvious if Parker is gone Gordon must be our pick. No other way around.

I wouldn't say that Gordon was that much more athletic than Parker based on this video -- Arizona often was doubling up on Parker, as well.
But but but...
Gordon has cool dunks and isn't Mormon!
Parker is Mormon! And goes to Duke! So obviously he's gonna suck, right?
Parker is so much better than Gordon it's silly to even discuss them.
I'm not hung up, I just think it's an important indicator. Name some players in the NBA who shoot low 40's from the free throw line but consistently knock down 3 PT shots. He may well turn out to be the best of the second group, but I think his shooting is a legitimate concern.
I'm not going to dig through a bunch of stars to figure this out. I will say that Scottie Pippen was bad at free throws initially and then got better. Here in San Antonio Bruce Bowen was pretty good at threes but a bad free throw shooter.
If you watch Gordon play you will see that his free throw has a different release than his jump shot. I think with a shooting coach and some work this 18 year old kid can improve free throws.
If you were to dig, I think you'd find it's pretty rare. Bowen is a good example, but Pippin was a 70% free throw shooter in college. Even Bowen shot 54%. I'm not saying he can't become a decent shooter. It's just that his free throw % has got to be a concern. He doesn't have the ability right now to space the floor. If he's going to play the 3 teams have to respect his perimeter game. I like everything else about him though.

His J is not fine.A legit concern would be teams hacking him. You seem to be completely ignoring the fact that his J is fine. I totally had this prob when I was a kid. I could shoot a J and would brick a ft. Why? because I didn't practice shooting FTs. I suspect that the thing Gordon needs is more hours at the line/shooting coach.
His J is not fine.
.86 PPP on catch and shoot
.66 PPP on shots off the dribble
10/34 on jump shots
45.3 FT%
51.4 2P% ranks 17th among PF's
.
He struggles to create his own shot. He's hit some open 3's but that will be tougher to do in the NBA. He's really raw offensively.
