I predicted about 4-5 months ago in this forum that Jarbari Parker's draft stock would drop. He didn't perform well against players with NBA length or athleticism in college. He takes a lot of contested shots and will be playing against guys that are quicker, taller, and more athletic. Jabari will have a harder time getting those contested shots off in the NBA in my opinion, leading to more blocked shots and turnovers. I think he will be the number 2 scorer on a team with a number one scoring mentality. I haven't even touched on his defense in which he might be in the bottom 5 of the entire draft. Everyone loves to play on offense because it is fun but defense is all about determination and work ethic, he doesn't seem to care much on defense. Like one of the previous posters said on here, he got benched several times and chewed out by coach K. There is a lot of fans that seems to think if we draft him that the Jazz would be able to retain him because he is Morman, I disagree with this statement and should go with Bpa at our pick and here is why:
He chose Duke over BYU, meaning he put a chance of being a title contender and being in the spotlight over playing for BYU.
He also chose to enter this years draft putting money over a potential NCAA championship.
I would guess he will probably put off a mission to play in the NBA next.
My point is that Jabari Parker likes the spotlight and he is going to do whatever favors him. I personally think he would rather play for the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks, or even the Bulls. He would be more in the spotlight and make more money on endorsements. I could even see him wanting to play for NBA championship contenders over the Utah Jazz if the Jazz is not contending in the next 3-4 years.
