OK I just watched the scouting report on this guy on Draft Express. I believe he can play the 3. Just needs a better shot and seeing his personality and his answers in the interview process of working on his shot without hesitation was key.
I have ripped on everyone available in this draft multiple times because the big guys seem average. And the rest were tweeners. I fell into everyone saying he is a 4. I don't mind him playing the 4 here and there when we need to go small/quick but full time I am not a fan of him playing the 4. I don't think he is strong enough or big enough and I don't think he ever will be.
Now the 3 position. His release seems fine and I think he will improve. I bet his FT% was based of of just lack experience and maybe nerves.
Quick enough to defend the 3 and I think his handle is good enough also(needs to tighten it up a little though). He reminds of a AK or Lamar Odom on offense but a WAY better man to man defender. Amazing that an 18 year old is that disciplined on defense to not fall for pump fakes and very good foot work on defense.
So again I am eating crow for ripping on this guy. He should be our future 3. Let Hayward go as he will be overpaid by the Celtics or Suns. And let Alec Burks start.
Trey - Neto
Burks - Veteran when we trade the 35 and 23rd
Aaron Gordon -Veteran when we trade the 35 and 23rd
Kanter - Gordon/Evans
Favors - Gobert
Veteran might start over Gordon in the beginning until he gets settled.

The Jazz need a player so good at offense that they can build an offense around them. Can ANYBODY here honestly say that they can expect Aaron Gordon to become that player? Why?
I am happy to welcome you to the light!
But, I have to ask, why would we let Hayward go? He's a good player, and he won't get max. Having multiple ball handlers and facilitators is a good thing. Nothing wrong w/ letting our draftees turn into vets.
If it's about Hayward's shooting, I doubt we'll see what we saw last year again. So much of that offensive scheme was a detriment to his game. Now we have a new coach, who wants to play w/ pace, which is a strength for Burks, Gordon, and Hayward.
I agree. Embiid and Wiggins should go #1 and #2. I'm on board with trading up for Parker or sitting tight and drafting Gordon. Either of those guys would be great additions for this team.Burke
Hayward/Burks
Gordon/Williams
Kanter/Tomic/Evans
Favors/Gobert
With our new coaching staff that will be a really fun team to watch.

I am not sure Gordon will ever be able to create his own shot though off the dribble. So we have to understand this guy may only be a role player and nothing more. Great man to man and help defense. Great passer. great hustle player. Does all the little things. If he gets a outside shot he could be a very good role player. His technique on his shot is troublesome when it comes to creating his own shot. Very awkward.
So hopefully nobody sees him as a future all-star. I don't see it happening. But sounds like a great role player who could help you become a championship team. I like the pick if its him and we see him as a 3.
I don't think Hayward is worth 10 million or more per year and I think the Suns or the Celtics will offer him that.
I don't think anyone that can't create their own shot consistently is worth 10 million or more unless you are a defensive anchor down low like Favors.
If we can get him for 8 million fine. but I don't want him eating up cap space to resign Burks, Kanter or free agents.
