Kanter???

Becaue Kanter is a PF not a C. when you leave him alone to protect the paint things are not going to turn out well.

If you left David West or Zach Randolph to guard the paint. Things wouldn't turn out well. Your buying into what Corbin was selling.

The previous year with Favors the +/- was huge for both of them together.

The previous year they were both playing off the bench against the bench guys... This year their plus minus was horrible.

Just looked at the previous year together... They were a -2... Not so huge.

God knows that other teams boards are always correct in their opinion of Jazz players.!!!!

Really!!!!!!

This.

How many games, and minutes have these fans of other teams even seen of Kanter. Better yet, how many minutes has the average Jazz fan seen of Kanter?

People are writing him off way too prematurely. With his physical tools, gifts, and limited experience with the game, the trajectory is upward.

My bad. I got their plus minus mixed up with their defensive rank.
The previous year their were reports about them being a top 5 defense with those 2 on the court.
That's the biggest stat of them all. Yes it was partly against bench players. But it shows potential.
And with a good coach and more experience I am excited personally.
I'm not the biggest optimist either. Most years I'm down on them.
If we have 3 shooters with Kanter and favors we can be a really good team once we have a legit system that everyone has bought into.
Future is still very bright.

I'll agree with that. Kanter just has some flaws that I think may really limit his ceiling. I think ideally his role will be a really good third big. My biggest problem with him is he seems to think too much on the court. Everything goes so slow... I'm worried his basketball instincts can't be fixed.

People said the same thing about Zach Randolph and I think Kanter is much more mature and has a better head on his shoulders then Randolph did at this age. If Randolph can be the starting PF on a top 5 defense. Kanter can easily.

Offensively I think he is fine. Just needs more experience. We sat him on the bench for 2 years and with no playing time at Kentucky. I don't blame him. I blame the Jazz for drafting a player who NEEDS experience and letting him sit on the bench for 2 years. Made no sense.
Him and Favors need as much playing time together as possible this coming year.
He does have his flaws with passing instincts for sure and defensive rotations, But I have a lot of faith in Snyder. And I hope he holds everyone accountable for being "unselfish" on offensive and great "defensive habits". If Kanter doesn't come into camp in great shape like he did 2 years ago.......Then he won't be able to play PF consistently. If he cant get back to 245 and quick like he was then he will always be a bench player. If he gets back down to 245 he can be dominate at the 4 position.

Also I agree with what you said about Kanter NOT shooting 3's.

Until he becomes a serious threat from the mid range he shouldn't even think about shooting 3's.

Kevin Love would be so much more effective if he didn't jack so many 3's. His shooting percentage would go up if he shot less and focused more on the mid range game. In the same way that Avery Johnson was key to Dirk's development as a player when he forced him to stay in the mid range area and make the 3 point shot a rare shot.

ncoloradojazz???
How much longer do we have to put up with this idiot?

You Call me an idiot but yet my bball knowledge is way ore superior compared to yours. I have seen your mock draft. It is beyond garbage and also Core 4? Who the core4 of the Jazz? Players that wouldn't be starters on playoff teams. You have ZERO bball iq

If you hate the Jazz so much go follow the Nuggets.

Lol. Go to another jazz board and try to spew your kanter ********. They will be about as nice to you as I am.

I think the average jazz fan has seen plenty of kanter. And many will say they have seen enough.

I'm willing to give Snyder at least 1/2 a season to see if he can weave some magic with Kanter before giving up on him.

There were always a lot of wide (WIDE) open opportunities for Enes following a pick and pop set up. The Jazz could use some of those easy points.

Grandpa, even though the outsider's opinion of an inexperienced prospect should not be affecting the decision the Jazz make, Vermin has a point there. I think outsider opinion is a good source to look and see what level you or your players are in the eye of the many. I know that fans bash other teams' players all the time, but I have not seen any good comments about Kanter out of his footwork and soft touch. But the Jazz also have to take those views in not more than the necessary consideration and be pragmatic about these types of things. For me, there is one more season for Kanter to show that he is capable of making his team win. But I mean that in the Jazz. Because I know that he wants to win, he is always struggling towards it. But the important thing is can he help the team win? How clutch is he? Up till now, not only in Jazz but internationally, I've seen the glimpse of his clutchness well enough for a bigman. I can see him turning into a reliable man like Duncan but he is miles away from that because of his low pace to react to the game and his inability to play as a team. He is trying. And I hope he shows great promise this season.

You really need to learn how to use paragraphs...

So it is everybody's else problem but Kanter's? Coach, system, poor shape due to injury, wrong position etc etc... when we are going to look at Kanter and admit that he was very bad last season. Only McLemore in all NBA had worse Roland rating than Kanter, that tells a lot. Obviously he can and should improve but lets not sugarcoat things.
