What's new

Jazz could work with Bucks

Is the #5, Favs, Burks and taking on Larry sanders too much?

I don't think it's too much. I'd do it.

Bloody freakin' ****! You're giving up THREE starters AND allowing them to dump their Pothead on us for Jabba Parker?

Just back away from the buffet line and say no to Jabba. I'd seriously draft Embiid before Parker. This is the MOST IMPORTANT period of his life and he's gone on an eating binge since the end of the college season. Forget the comparisons to Carmelo; this guy's career could mirror Oliver Miller's.

Is this your new drama thingy? Yawn.

I'll bet the farm on Jabari, look at FA.

The more I think of it I also really dont know enough about all the prospects wish i did, so im now ok if we stay 5 and turn it into Gordon.

Bucks want to move up, not down. Nothing short of a blowout package is going to land either Wuggs or Jabari. I'm talking 5, 23, Favors, Burke, GS 2017, and our 2016 unprotected.

Nobody is passing up a guaranteed All Star (Jabari) or a guy with the talent skillset to possibly be in the GOAT convo 15 years from now for a bunch of maybes and roster filler.

Dude its ridiculous to say anyone in this draft is guaranteed to be an all-star. They have such a long way to go. Parker AS OF RIGHT NOW is not quick enough to get by his man consistently. Not quick enough yet. Horrible defense.
Wiggins can't finish at the rim. Low percentage for someone athletic as him. Most guys coming out don't have that problem. He does. His outside shot I am not worried about. Just need more experience.
I like both. but its ridiculous to say they are guaranteed to be all-stars, when they both have serious flaws that usually the stars don't have coming out.

Long way to go. I hope we trade up as long as we don't include burks though.

I am kind of entering a Wiggins or Gordon phase.

But I am completely uninformed and pull 90% of my draft opinion form here so what the hell do I know.

Judging from all the Gordon love at 5 you are as un-informed as it gets.:)

Yep, I'm the drama queen.
I've seen Parker play and he's no Carmelo. We'd be giving up a #3, #5 and #12 and committing ourselves to a suspension-waiting-to-happen in Sanders. You could argue Favors is less than a #3 pick. But the #5 is likely Gordon or Vonleh. Those are potential all-stars. And Burks is one of the top 6th men in the league (or a starter). Awful lot to give up for a guy that has no defined position and has put on 15 lbs since the combine, making him even slower than he was. There is absolutely ZERO reason for Cleveland to lie about him looking "sluggish." Everyone knows he's not going to drop to 4 or 5, which are the trades teh Cavs were reportedly considering.

Pretty vanilla.

The worst that happens is you take a chance at being great and fail. Don't take that chance and you're stuck right back in Middle Hell. Besides, the Jabari defense line is the most overused line of this draft process. He's too small to guard the 4's and 5's he was put on. He will guard well enough in his very first season.

Still cannot wrap your mind around a 25 win squad eh? Yeah, these guys are the untouchables you're making them out to be.

He will get dominated playing the 4 position with strength and size. He will get burnt playing the 3 at his current weight. He could be a great SF if he loses weight. If he doesn't he will have some major problems and will always get taken advantage of.

I would be happy with Wiggins, Parker or Gordon.... maybe Exum(?)

Anyone else, will feel a little hollow to me. The more I read, the more excited I become about Gordon.

I wonder if DL could find a way to get Parker or Wiggins, and still keep a pick high enough to get Gordon? I might never complain again if he could do that.

Never said that.
Read the other thread: I'm on board with the Favors, #5 and the #23 (Or Burks Or lottery protected 2015 pick) for Wiggins. I absolutely hate Parker - and it has nothing to do with his religion. Is he a defensively-challenged 3? Or is he a stretch-4? Only thing he's been stretching since the combine are the seams in his pants. Gaining 15 pounds...in advance of the most IMPORTANT moment of his life. He can't stay in shape for just TWO months? Best case scenario for Jabari is a healthy Carlos Boozer. He can score, but can't defend. And for another Boozer-like player, I'd rather just keep Favors, Burks and Vonleh/Gordon.

And to cite the 25-win season as the projection for this squad is a bit disingenuous. We got rid of a coaching staff who was unimaginative, ineffective with their schemes and had completely lost the team by March 1st. Jazz will no longer have 15 games of JLIII or Jamaal Tinsley running the point. The bench gets a LOT stronger just by virtue of adding a couple of draft picks. Burke is no longer a rookie. Burks came on towards the end of the season when Corbin finally started giving him consistent minutes.

If he's put on the weight you claim then he won't get dominated at the 4 like you claim. And in that scenario he'll be a matchup nightmare on the other end, so you're pretty much saying nothing relevant.

25 win teams don't have untouchables like you claim because you have a vendetta against a coach. Even giving you the benefit of those few extra games, you sound like you want the team stuck in mediocrity for another 5 years. Blah.

Draft Future All Star Jabari Parker.
