What's new

Jazz could work with Bucks

Pretty vanilla.

The worst that happens is you take a chance at being great and fail. Don't take that chance and you're stuck right back in Middle Hell. Besides, the Jabari defense line is the most overused line of this draft process. He's too small to guard the 4's and 5's he was put on. He will guard well enough in his very first season.

He will get dominated playing the 4 position with strength and size. He will get burnt playing the 3 at his current weight. He could be a great SF if he loses weight. If he doesn't he will have some major problems and will always get taken advantage of.

I would be happy with Wiggins, Parker or Gordon.... maybe Exum(?)

Anyone else, will feel a little hollow to me. The more I read, the more excited I become about Gordon.

I wonder if DL could find a way to get Parker or Wiggins, and still keep a pick high enough to get Gordon? I might never complain again if he could do that.

Still cannot wrap your mind around a 25 win squad eh? Yeah, these guys are the untouchables you're making them out to be.
Never said that.
Read the other thread: I'm on board with the Favors, #5 and the #23 (Or Burks Or lottery protected 2015 pick) for Wiggins. I absolutely hate Parker - and it has nothing to do with his religion. Is he a defensively-challenged 3? Or is he a stretch-4? Only thing he's been stretching since the combine are the seams in his pants. Gaining 15 pounds...in advance of the most IMPORTANT moment of his life. He can't stay in shape for just TWO months? Best case scenario for Jabari is a healthy Carlos Boozer. He can score, but can't defend. And for another Boozer-like player, I'd rather just keep Favors, Burks and Vonleh/Gordon.

And to cite the 25-win season as the projection for this squad is a bit disingenuous. We got rid of a coaching staff who was unimaginative, ineffective with their schemes and had completely lost the team by March 1st. Jazz will no longer have 15 games of JLIII or Jamaal Tinsley running the point. The bench gets a LOT stronger just by virtue of adding a couple of draft picks. Burke is no longer a rookie. Burks came on towards the end of the season when Corbin finally started giving him consistent minutes.

If he's put on the weight you claim then he won't get dominated at the 4 like you claim. And in that scenario he'll be a matchup nightmare on the other end, so you're pretty much saying nothing relevant.

25 win teams don't have untouchables like you claim because you have a vendetta against a coach. Even giving you the benefit of those few extra games, you sound like you want the team stuck in mediocrity for another 5 years. Blah.

Draft Future All Star Jabari Parker.

come on frank.
core4 just said that he would trade 5, burks, and favors for 1.

he doesnt think any of our guys are untouchable.

he just doesnt like jabari very much

Where exactly did I claim someone was untouchable? Honestly, do you have a reading disability? Read my second sentence (right after the "Never said that."). And I quote (myself) "Read the other thread: I'm on board with the Favors, #5 and the #23 (Or Burks Or lottery protected 2015 pick) for Wiggins." Substitute Kanter or Burke or any other player in that deal if you want. Only reason I don't say give them Hayward instead of Burks is because he can't be traded. No, I don't have a "vendetta" against your father; I just think he was a lousy HEAD coach. Are there others who have been lousy head coaches? Sure. Cheeks, Woodson, Brown, D'Antoni just in 2013/14. They coached themselves out of a job, too. But please wish the best of luck to Ty in his new job when you talk to him.

AS for Jabari not struggling at the 4 because he weighed in at 255 lbs, I beg to differ. He was already fat for an NBA player. His body fat percentage was >10% and will now be even higher. When teams have questioned your lateral quickness is it wise to gain 15 lbs in a month, when you are doing workouts? Oh, I know, it's easy to put on weight when you're traveling around the country, dining at restaurants. He'll slim down once the season starts. NBA teams never travel around the country and eat at restaurants or have room service meals.

Favors and 5 for Sanders and the 2 is fine.

Adding Burks is not.

At 5 we're going to get a player that will make some (but not all) Jazz fans happy. I'm going to guess Embiid, Vonleh or Gordon.

See, I knew you hated Parker.

The truth is out

A front court of Parker and Kanter will score 40 to 45 points a night............................... and surrender 60.

Jabari is not going to score 30 per night his first season.

It's too bad that picture wasn't taken from the floor. They could have boasted how his knees elevate to rim level.

Of the other 26 players taken first in the draft since 1985, just three have gone on to win championships: Shaquille O'Neal, LeBron James and Glenn Robinson. However, all three did it after leaving the teams they were drafted by, and Glenn Robinson was a non-factor for the Spurs in 2005.

It's not only the No. 1 selections who have failed to bring titles to the franchises that chose them; the same applies to the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots as well. There have been 84 players drafted second through fourth in the lottery era, and just three of them have won championships with their original clubs.

It's **** like this that I think is stupid

Not sure why the guy chose 1985 as the cutoff, but if you go back even further...
#1 overall draft picks that won an NBA title (with the team that drafted them):

Hakeem Olajuwon
James Worthy
Magic Johnson
Bill Walton
Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Cazzie Russell
