With the Fifth Pick... Dante Exum

well, i'm another Aussie on this board (and the old one) for a few years now. must admit, i DID NOT want exum, as stated in a couple of other threads. i do hope he becomes something special in this league (especially now) but i think he's a huge risk at #5 give his limited exposure and experience. of course if he can becomes half as good as people say he can be i'm all for the pick.

btw i grew up watching his dad DoMiNaTE as a top-level import for the canberra cannons (my NBL team) back in the 80s, so i mean it when i say that i hope to see him do well. suspect he will take some time to get it together, but if trey and alec continue to step-up their own games it can only help. hate hearing the anti-burke/burks talk in this forum, i think they've both got a heap of talent and improvement still to come, hopefully with utah rather than elsewhere.
Me too- I also watched Dantes father Cecil play for the Nth Melb giants and Geelong Supercats against my Sydney Kings (LOL). I originally also did not see Dante an early pick somewhere 6-8 due to lack of competition, but happy for him to prove me wrong and will give him a chance

Ha. I hear nobody in Mexico drinks Patron either.
well that kind of makes sense.. why would mexico pay to import tequila ?

ya know who created patron?

I don't know how many times I need to say this, but that wasn't a HS tournament. There were college players and professional players involved. If you think it was only HS kids, then you are very mistaken and blatantly ignorant.

He's looking for his HS stats, not the tourney.

I love patron

Why don't you just read the article? It has nothing to do with drinking red bull before a workout, or whether I believe that he does... Stupid.
I saw a video the other day where he said he does that doe. Made me wonder.

If Exum struggles with his shooting this year, big-time especially, we need to throw the kitchen sink at Engelland next off-season and make him the assistant head coach. 1M per year, whatever it takes.

Duh! That's exactly why we're dogging on him. I would've preferred a little more of a sure thing.

You never know what will happen with someone like Stauskas, either. What if he becomes the white Chris Mullin? People act like this is all some exact science or a video game. Like you can see a player's "potential ability" number.

First you say you want something that's more of a sure thing, then you say that we can't act like this is an exact science or video game.

Lulz.

Why complicate things? If you need a centre, you draft a freaking centre. You don't draft a small forward, then trade your current small forward for dimes on the dollar to get a centre. You draft a freaking centre. Good grief, it's not that complicated.

How is it possible that a basketball fan can know so little about basketball?

It's not that complicated. But you're right…we probably should have taken the next center off the board, Jusuf Nurkic. Lulz.

My problem isn't that I don't trust the office to evaluate talent, my problem is that the whole approach is wrong. Picking the best player available is a bad idea. You fill needs. The Jazz don't need a PG or a SG.

Hi Jimmy! I hope you're finding yourself well, dude. Great summer, huh?

Anyway, I'm sitting here in my Aeron chair thanking the basketball gods that you have nothing to do with the Jazz front office. Your positions are all so comical and an obvious attempt and getting folks riled up. Well done.

Some dude called him XZoom.

Really feels nice that they are all yelling at their FO for not drafting Exum and how good he is they think.
