I find it funny how you can speculate on Utah's mindset considering how much time you spend around the team. While I'll admit, I don't really like hearing players run their mouths before a game, it doesn't automatically mean Utah is afraid. I could just as easily proclaim that maybe it shows confidence and it would be no closer to the truth than what you're spewing.
Boise St. has been one of the most dominant forces in Div I Football for a long time. Their program is what BYU and Utah should aspire to have. IMO, if Utah wins this it will be BY FAR the biggest upset in Coach Whit's career. At least Utah against Alabama was at worst, a fringe BCS buster. Some critics could have said that they barely got by Oregon St and should have lost to TCU. I understand that argument.
Utah (or even BYU for that matter) should not aspire to have what Boise has. Utah is in a bigger market, has a deeper recruiting pool, better facilities, and much more upward mobility than Boise. Had the MWC stayed together after Boise joined, the nation would have quickly seen that when Boise had to play Utah, BYU and TCU year in and year out, they would no longer be a threat to bust the BCS every year. Nevada beat Boise this year, and while Nevada is a good team, they wouldn't have won the MWC. TCU would have most likely handled them and what if the Wolfpack traveled to Provo in the later part of the season instead of earlier? What if the Wolfpack had to face Utah when they were hitting their stride earlier in the season? The WAC is borderline DivII football right now and Boise has gotten fat off of it. No other way around that.
However, this Boise St. team is fantastic while this Utah team isn't very good at all. The gap between the two teams is much greater than Utah vs Pitt, Utah vs Bama, and Utah vs nearly any team they've seen in a long time. If Utah has any shot, they'll need several once in a lifetime performances. While also needing Boise to either play uninspired or have a half of falling asleep (like they did against Nevada).
This is my absoutely favorite part of your quote because it shows what a wuss you are. Even though you claim to know that Boise is going to roll Utah, you're already laying out some backdoor excuses in advance just incase Utah wins or has a good showing. That's really pathetic man. Bottom line is this: Both teams have to take it upon themselves to come into the game fired up, prepared and ready to go. Let's not make excuses on either side, let the game dictate the winner. If it's Boise in a blowout, than so be it. You won't see any excuses coming from me.
I predict a ticked off Boise to pick Cain off several times and to be up by at least 3 touchdowns by halftime. This one is going to get ugly ala TCU (Biggest game ever in the state of Utah)......
Maybe that will be the case, or maybe you're wrong. However, if you're wrong at least do the decent thing and admit it without using any of those ready-made excuses that you've already started throwing around.
