I love Weird Al.

Here is another song ft Weird Al that came out recently. He plays Isaac Newton. Another one of my favorite people ever (I am debating naming my son Isaac if I ever have one but first I need to find a wife crazy enough to marry me).

As one headline put it, "Weird Al has now retroactively justified the existence of Robin Thicke."

He has been releasing one a day all week.

These songs don't hit the spot the same way White and Nerdy, Amish Paradise, Couch Potato, or Smells Like Nirvana does for me. I think it is because the songs nowadays on the radio are even worse than they used to be. I don't care for the songs happy, Blurred Lines, or Royals. The songs work so much better if you like the original song it is parodying.

I don't think that's super important. I didn't even know the song White and Nerdy was parodying, I disliked Gangsta Paradise and Smells like Teen Spirit. (And I don't know Coach Potato or its parody.)

I think Tacky, Word Crimes, and Foil are as good as just about anything he's done. And Word Crimes in particular disproves your thesis--I detest Blurred Lines and Robin Thicke with a passion.

Weird Al's Foil song starts off as one of the dumbest lyrically written songs all time and then halfway through it it takes a change for the better and becomes one of the best lyrically written songs the universe has ever seen. Dat **** is deep, doe.
