So your assumption is that not a single person born after a certain date supports anything republican in nature?

There a strong difference in degree between "not a single person" and "without continued support". I don't think there is much debate that the vast majority of those born in 1990 or later find issues like the opposition to same-sex marriage to be a significant detriment.

Maybe having a serious 3rd party would make the other candidates step up thier game...... whatever that means

I think the problem is we end up with a hamstrung moderate who has to pretend to be a hardcore extremist and dance around way too much **** to make sure they are re-electable to actually do anything meaningful. If they could simply run as a moderate then fine, but it simply doesn't work that way in the current political climate.

Personally I would love to see the presidency changed to a single 6-year term with no chance for re-election. Enough time to get something done and no worry about a re-election cycle that so often generates an anemic first term, but not so long we are stuck with a lame duck or a dick, so limiting the damage potential.

This is my major beef with the two party system as well. The fact that "the party" comes before "the people" makes me furious. I want a straight up independent who has half a brain, doesn't have to answer to the upper echelon of some BS party, and has the ignorance to keep him from falling into the ugly side of politics. (Money, corruption, etc)
