You don't pay very good attention do you. I haven't chased down an argument in a long time, other than OB who is just fun to debate. I don't think I have ever even had a conversation with you directly at all. Interesting assumption on your part there. I have also never said anything about fighting the good fight, whatever that means. You can fabricate all the fights you want, or you can just answer the question. Remember, you are the one who made assertions about a major political party going the way of the dinosaur and frankly you have done a ****ty job defending your position. This drop into direct ad hominem doesn't strengthen your position much, just FYI.

So if that is NOT your assumption feel free to set the record straight. If it is, well you have my pity.

Dude. We both know he was using hyperbole to make his point, which I thought was pretty interesting. I think he's right, by the way, and that we are already seeing the effects.

So you can just spin it again? That's totally going to work. You want to imagine me as this vindictive, self serving, abortion loving, red hating, social atheist liberal because I said I feel like the republican party is on the ropes because of some severely bad decisions they've made over the last few years. Sure I speculated that it's because those in control never worked for anything they got, but that, too, is speculation.

That's all. Not that I hate them, not that they should die, and not even that a conservative party doesn't have a place in society today. You turn it into "OMG, DAT LIBERAL IS ON THE ATTACK".

But I do like how you admit that you've hounded out arguments in the past. It shows good character, so thank you. I, too, have jumped off that ledge a time or too.

Wow, talk about putting words in people's mouths, and nice side-step of the question. Pretty clear no style AND no substance. Oh well, carry on whatever it is you were doing. What was that again? Oh yeah, "dem rich republicans doe, on the way out, good riddance, blah blah blah".

Uhm... I think I did just reclarify my position. Which I can only assume reading that dribble you call a post was your "question".

But failgrade will be failgrade. Keep on truckin bro.

So your assumption is that not a single person born after a certain date supports anything republican in nature?

There a strong difference in degree between "not a single person" and "without continued support". I don't think there is much debate that the vast majority of those born in 1990 or later find issues like the opposition to same-sex marriage to be a significant detriment.

I have a question: what is it that everyone wants out of a third party candidate? From the way people talk, it sounds like they want someone in the middle of the two parties. If that's true then why is a 3rd party candidate even necessary when we always end up with a moderate in dah house regardless?

I simply want more dudes to choose from (instead of just 2)

Maybe having a serious 3rd party would make the other candidates step up thier game...... whatever that means

I think the problem is we end up with a hamstrung moderate who has to pretend to be a hardcore extremist and dance around way too much **** to make sure they are re-electable to actually do anything meaningful. If they could simply run as a moderate then fine, but it simply doesn't work that way in the current political climate.

Personally I would love to see the presidency changed to a single 6-year term with no chance for re-election. Enough time to get something done and no worry about a re-election cycle that so often generates an anemic first term, but not so long we are stuck with a lame duck or a dick, so limiting the damage potential.

Solid

The 2nd paragraph makes alot of sense

God bless Canada for having several different parties with their candidates elected as Members of the Canadian Parliament. The two-party system discourages cooperation, and the ability to support a view not backed by your party.

I hate the 2 party system.

This is my major beef with the two party system as well. The fact that "the party" comes before "the people" makes me furious. I want a straight up independent who has half a brain, doesn't have to answer to the upper echelon of some BS party, and has the ignorance to keep him from falling into the ugly side of politics. (Money, corruption, etc)
