To me this is spy superior starting lineup vs quin depth.

Fwiw my voting will break down as follows:

I will compare each player at each position and give a point for each player I deem superior.... Then add up the points. (Not even gonna really consider the 3rd stringers tbh)

Then I will look at chemistry/style of play comparisons.

Finally, I will look at which team I would enjoy watching more (the homer portion of my vote.

Wow. That is a lot to consider fosho fisho.

I came away with 5-5 on the player comparison lol.

Chemistry and likeability pretty even too.

I see spys team controlling tempo and being too good in the half court of a playoff style game.

Also, starters are more important, and play more minutes than benches and I think spy has the better starting lineup (though depth goes to quin) so I'm leaning spy right now.

Not gonna vote quite yet though

Not everyone is better than everyone by the same amount, though.

What I mean is, if you do exactly what you're saying, then a lineup of Magic + Fesenko would get just as many points as Stockton + David Robinson.

Don't worry bro, I already took that into consideration.

It's not each winner matchup gets 1 point necessarily.

If I think one player is a lot better than the other then it's a 2-0 score (kinda like in boxing where if one dude dominates a round then it's a 10-8 round)

Dont think you have to worry about any situations as lopsided as the scenario you presented doe.
Pretty much every player in this tournament is way better than fess and most every player matchup will be pretty close

Paul Pierce was/is clutch as hell too.

Worthy.

Also, your Shaq played better comp than Wilt is silly. Wilt played Russell and Kareem in their primes. Shaq's rings were against three mediocre teams in Indy, the Nets, and the Sixers. And Shaq's peak years were when Hakeem, Robinson and Ewing were all in the worst part of their careers.

None of your guys blow mine away. At all.

I think a lot of people on this board who didn't really watch the NBA of the 80's severely undervalue James Worthy. He was a top level athlete and all-star in his own right, and a seriously fierce competitor. In their primes I would take him over Pierce in a heartbeat.

Evidence of this is the hack a Shaq defense that was employed all too often. If there had been another center of even close to equal ability teams wouldn't have been reduced to this. And if you think that they used hack a Shaq just because he was so dominant, I want a list of the centers he went up against and what part of their career they were in. Even end of career Shaq was way different than prime Shaq, and the same holds true for other players.

I agree with this.
I have the nod to worthy when I was comparing lineups.

I would be willing to give the nod to Worthy, as well.

Funny cause I'm actually the one who drafted Worthy and Pierce, and I took Pierce first.

And later in my trade that netted me Drexler, I could have traded Pierce instead of Worthy, but a lineup of Thomas/Drexler/Worthy would have really bad spacing when you consider Drexler is the best 3 point shooter of that group.

It's sad cuz you know WesMantooth has like 5 alts voting for him too.

LOL. I got banned within a few hours after creating AlCowlingsBronco or something like that...I think another alt too at basically the same time.

Not doing that again. Jason's been too cool to let me come back.

McHale's not getting enough love. He's usually a starter in this thing.

Incredible scorer (26ppg) and defender (6 All-Defensive teams).

He's the best 3rd big in this whole tournament.
