BREAKING NEWS - Jazz close to signing Toure Murry

It might be true that snyder chooses to go with gobert and favors together in the starting lineup (though i doubt it)..... but i think you are reading way to much into an end of the bench signing if this signing is helping you come to that conclusion

This signing has little to do with how the minutes will be distributed or how the team will be ran.

This.

But also, a week or so ago on tip-off, Locke says he asked Quin who'd be starting, Quin said he'd start the returning five to start off with. Returning five would be trey, alec, gordon, enes, and derrick. Alec and Enes weren't consistant starters last year, but those who started over them are gone, so...

Gobert will gt mintes, but I don't believe they'll be coming solely at the expense of Enes', since both Gobert and Favors are limited offensively. I think we'll see some pairings with derrick and enes, rudy and enes, rudy nd derrick, derrick and trevor, trevor and enes, derrick and steve, and steve and rudy.

For what it's worth, I think it was pretty clear that Snyder was saying those would be the starts *going into camp*. He wasn't saying those would be the starters on day 1 of the season. I just mention that because it seems like many people have taken that quote out of context. (Not saying that you are.)

That's a good point about camp vs season. The quote does say something like "to start with," so it obviously isn't a concrete lineup.

Still, I am not worried for Kanter and his minutes, because I don't think the FO has quit on him. We've heard a couple stories and ideas from Lindsey, Perin, and Locke relaying Quin on how Kanter could be used in the new system. One particular interview with Lindsey on 1280 made it sound like Kanter would have a big role because of his natural touch. Only thing that I see stopping Kanter is Kanter (physical shape from having to rehab his knee and quads, as opposed to conditioning and working on basketball skills). If Gobert gets a sizeable chunk, those minutes will come from Favors as well. Booker is a nice addition, but is a backup. Novak is a specialist.

All of our young guys should be able to fine time this year, excluding clark and evans.

Back to T Murry.
Still don't see where he will fit in.
Seems like he would get more PT with some of the other teams after him.
He has to jump over a lot of similar players Jazz already have.
Could there be a trade in the works after they sign Toure?
Like the idea of stockpiling talent and see who emerges though.

As I see these names and look at their 3pt %s I can't help but think about the idea I have seen some mention (such as PKM) about a Favors/Gobert frontcourt working if they are surrounded by shooters. With an excellent (or so it seems) passing PG in Exum and all these shooters in Hood, Novak, Hayward and now possibly Murry it makes me think that Snyder has similar thoughts. Not to mention a coach brought on to be a shooting coach. Could this spell trouble for Kanter?
I for one, would love to see a Favors, Gobert frontcourt (all your boards belong to us), play Hayward as SF, Burks SG, with Trey- might work. Hood as a 6th or 7th man with Dante and Kanter in that mix.
Even if we get Murry , Clark will be ahead of him, If he plays some awesome D (or Felix for that matter) I could see maybe 10mins a game Max.
