Jazz players at the World Cup

Back in my natural habitat! Pour some more ice in my cola. Going back to the Xbox for a marathon session!
 
So everyone is saying that usa roster sucks, thier offense sucks, they don't pass, they cut the wrong players, Hayward got screwed, coach K sucks, etc etc.

I have not watched any games but aren't they scoring tons of points every game, winning by like 40 pts each game, and dominating thier opponents?

Reading this thread I would think that the usa is struggling to score and getting beat every game.
 
It surprised me more that Hayward got invited to try out for team USA more
then him getting cut. I think he was ranked 90+ in the league before his struggles last season. He shot the ball terrible last year and did not show any improvements that I seen. He seems to play passively and without confidence. He is probably the worst shooting wing on the team and he is just an average defender. Other players on the team can rebound and and pass the ball if needed. I just didn't see a place for him on the team. Without an elite ability your just an average or slightly better than average player in the league at the most. I hope Hayward has a good season and I'm sure he will shoot better from 3pt range this year but I just don't think he did anything special to deserve a spot on the team.

Brazil was the only real competition for the team. DR and PR should have been blown out by more.

I see.
so our j.v. team (no lebron, kobe, wade, cp3, love, griffin, george, durant, etc etc) blowing other countries team out (the rest of the world had gotten much better in the last 20 years btw) equals usa coach, offense, and roster all suck. Ok, that makes alot of sense.

Im sure if coach K would only play hayward, korver, and parsons 30 minutes per game and let hayward install a passing offense with his amazing all around game then we would average 170 pts per game and would be beating teams by 80 pts per game right?
 
I was on break yesterday and watched a little bit of the game and what i saw was plumlee strip barea of the ball which led to a nice fast break bucket by rose

then i saw harden pass up a wide open 3 and passed down low to an open plumlee for the easy basket

then thompson passed to rudy gay who was in the post with a point guard on him for an easy turnaround 8 foot jumper.


I have yet to see a single post in this thread saying something good about what team usa has done in any game so far....... yet they are destroying every team, every game.

Just seems like alot of hatin for our own country team goin on

and which of those players play for the Jazz?


I agree with you 100% here.

But the focus of the thread is NOT on Team USA. It's on ANY country's team in the World Cup with a Jazz player on their roster.
 
Looks about right. I probably would've kept Korver, but they're going to need fresh bigs with the 5 games in 6 days or whatever to start the tourney and then later against Spain.

Neto in for about 3 minutes in the second. Very quiet. Committed a bad offensive foul for pushing and then missed a cut by his man and gave up and-1 trying to catch up. Then he was out.
Neto back in with 3:20 left in the second. Drives and dishes to Nene, who scores the 15 foot jumper.
Neto drive and kick for open 3. And one more pass for a 3.
Neto drives and tries a floater, but it doesn't go in.
Halftime - Brazil leads 48:24. Neto with 3 assists and 1 turnover in 7 minutes of play...
Q3: Neto on the bench.
Neto in, 1 steal and 1 turnover...
Neto in transition, drives to the basket, fouled on the layup. Scores both FT.
Nice drive and jumper from 1 leg from 10 feet. Neto is a pest in defense. I like his effort.
Nice cut to the basket, scores the layup.
Q4: Neto scores again - long 2 jumper.
Drives to the FT line, misses the floater...
Nice steal and wide open layup in transition. He's got 10pts now.
Neto out, Huertas in and turns over the ball stupidly with his very first touch.

Game over. Neto finished with 10pts(4/6 FG, 2/2 FT), 3 assists, 2 TO, 2 steals in about 20 minutes of play.
