What's new

Trevor Booker- freak athlete, by the numbers...

Yeah, he is super quick. I loved his drives on Motienjuas (?) when he used his speed to get on his side, then did a quick spin move and used his power to throw his defender's body off him for a nice hook/push shot in the middle of the paint.

I LOVE what Booker brings to this team. He is the most intensive guy on the team and the toughest.

The play that blew me away was in the second half during that great 3Q run. He flew in for a tip rebound on the offense glass. Does anyone have video of that play? All he did was tip it out but they way he came flying in was amazing.

I thought he was the only guy on the team that showed any guts at all.

Agreed. He was the only guy who exceeded expectations last night. Alec played about how I expected and everyone else played below what I think they can do.

Marvin was the calmest guy off the court but when he played he brought a lot of intensity and fire to the team that I was worried nobody would bring this year, but Booker does it. Booker can't play like that any longer then he did last night though. When he came out in the 4th quarter after that run he was completely out of gas.

Booker's standing reach and athleticism make him passable at PF. That spinning hook shot he does in the lane hasn't been blocked yet.

I am really shocked at how good Booker is. I didn't watch him play much last year, but when I did he seemed really average. I'd like to see him get 30 minutes a night.

He is short for PF, but when he is able to jump cleanly he skys over guys. He is a functional athlete too... meaning he doesn't just test well, he uses his athleticism in the actual games.

He's still young... if the 3 falls lookout. I thought we may have overpaid for this guy, but it turns out DL is a better talent evaluator than me... who knew?

I also thought Gobert brought it last night. He locked up Howard, which I wasn't sure he had the strength to do.

hmmmmmmmmmm.... Kwame Kanter™ expendable?

Booker is a lot quicker and has greater handles than what I was expecting. Also, he has a pretty sweet stroke. Great, underrated pickup. I've been a big fan of Kanter, but I think that I am totally fine with starting Booker along with Favors. Plus, Kanter may be better suited against the backups.

Trevor Booker is looking like a great pickup. The one annoyance I had with him was that he would pump fake and drive at the 3 point line.. (occasionally when no one was even on him). The great news is in the Mavericks game he actually started putting up and hitting his threes instead of having to rely soley on the pump fake/drive.

If both he (and Alec) can keep hitting and gaining confidence with their their 3 pointers, they will both become very hard to guard.

In his first 4 years @ Washington, Trevor Booker tried to make 3 a total number of 10 times. He made one of them. In two games in Utah so far, he has shot 5 and made 3. Based on these first two games, he`s a total steal for us with his hustle and his surprising range.

Don't beat yourself up. I have exactly the same situation with you. I didn't watch him last year much but he was NOT playing like he is doing right now when I watched him before. He was only the hustle and energizer player who is doing plenty of dumb things on the court but now he clearly seems like he improved a lot of things in his game.

He still makes some silly mistakes on the court especially when he rushes the things but I'm much more positive about him now. Definitely a very good acquisition for the Jazz.

I really like Booker, he's all hustle. He isn't a freak athlete, but he's a great athlete and a real steal of a pick up. I was at the home opener and the crowd seemed to fall in love with Booker right from the get go.
