Exum vs Burke in first NBA games

I have to say that Exum has looked better than Trey did in his first 3 NBA games, and when you consider Trey was 2 years (21 months) older with all that NCAA experience, you have to feel good about Exum right now. And yes, as one poster mentioned in another thread, he already is a better defender, and I would say his game is better suited to playing PG. As you can see though, both are very young -- Burke is just turning 22, and Exum turned 19 in July. The people complaining about Burke should also factor his youth into the equation.

For comparison:

Trey Burke first 3 games:
52 minutes - 20 points - 8 assists - 8 rebounds - 1 steal - 3 turnovers - 36% shooting - 12.5% 3point

Dante Exum first 3 games:
47 minutes - 17 points - 4 assists - 2 rebounds - 3 steals - 4 turnovers - 54.5% shooting - 50% 3point

So, after seeing these numbers how do you feel?

This can not be accurate.
Burke only had 52 minutes in 3 games?

He has to be closer to 90

Eh, they're kind of surprising. You would probably have expected the numbers to be swapped, especially the percentages and rebounds.

I really just want to see Exum be more aggressive. I think he belongs in the league, even at 19.

8 of his 11 FG attempts have been from 3.

Their roles were (and are) completely different. Burke got main ball-handling duties basically from the get-go.

Aggressiveness should be his focus this year. If he could gain that confidence (which I'm seeing more and more of each game) then he'll be a force next season and he'll just get better from there.

I like the fact that they're developing his game from the 3-pt line, in. He needs to tighten his handle before he can use his athleticism to do more serious damage, so bringing him along with a simple game plan makes a lot of sense.

I like where he his right now, and I'm excited to see the in-season improvements.
