Chad Ford: Exum > Burke right now; rookie player that's most positively surprising

NAOS, aren't you like a philosophy professor or some ****?

As far as comparisons go, it is not bad, but they are completely different players. Penny liked to post and bang and thrived on contact, which I havent seen from Exum (it may come). Exum seems quicker and has better court vision than Penny.

I don't know if you've seen U18 games of Exum. He used to post up even against SG and SFs and abuse them with some nice post up moves. I can't wait until his body catches up with his skill... Look at the scouting vid of draftexpress. They even put posting up as a strength of his. He also had about 10FTA/game in one of the World cups(i.e. he thrived on contact). Right now he can't do it simply because his body and strength are not there yet for NBA-level.

I think my favorite Exum comparison is Penny Hardaway - I think it's accurate as Anfernee handled the ball well, was oversized/athletic & filled the stat sheet.

exum is much smaller than penny though. but yeah, i see similarities in their quick first step and good court vision. we should be delighted if exum is half as good as penny.

Tony Parker is probably my most hated NBA player ever. I ALWAYS hated the put your head down and run to the basket and flop hoping the refs would bail you out play, even if it was effective. That seemed to be his go to move. If that is how Exum develops I will be disappointed. He looks to have a little more jaw dropping "what did I just see!" to his game, which I really want from him.

And yes, I know Parker has expanded his game. Still hate him and his flopping though.

pretty much every damn stars are floppers nowdays. cp3, blake, dwade, bron, KD, curry, and etc. they all flop. it's the new era. parker isn't even the best flopper in his own team.

dirk and bron think there are nothing wrong with flop. i'm disgusted by it too.

You know you don't have to reply to every-single-posts that I make right?
This is what I was thinking when he quoted your post.

He just can't seem to leave you alone. It's weird

Burke 27 minutes Exum 27 minutes
.......11 pts......................11 pts................... 22 pts
.......3/8 (3pts)................. 2/4 (3pts)............. 5/12 (3pts)
.......2 rebs......................2 rebs................... 4 rebs
...... 3 assists................... 5 assists................ 8 assists
...... 3 turnovers............... 1 turnovers............. 4 turnovers

22 pts 4 rebs 8 assists PG play

Exum has 52 minutes the last two games ,the minutes are climbing............guys say Exum needs a better handle ,he's not ready to bring the ball up consistently but the turnovers are saying different............Exum 115 minutes /6 turnovers--1 turnover per 19 minutes............................Burke 186 minutes/16 turnovers---- 1 turnover per 11 1/2 minutes

Maybe Exum's lefthand isnt as good as they like ,but results matter and Exum has found a way of getting the ball up the court without turnovers

hope burke can turn around in detroit....

I think he will as well as the rest of the team.
I think we match up well against Detroit. They well struggle to defend the perimeter imo

I believe that we have a chance to win 3~4 games on this road trip.

I know it is only a small sample but it will be interesting to see how Exum goes on this 5 game roadtrip
At home he is hitting 52% FG - 50% 3PTS - 3.5 ASt and 0.75 TO
Away he is hitting 40% FG - 0% 3PTS - 1 AST - 1.5 TO

Aren't we like 30-2 versus Detroit over the past 16 years? We could start an all-Jazzfanz all-star team with Jazz jerseys and beat Detroit. Their fans simply chalk it up as a loss when they see us on the schedule no matter how bad we are. I'll be disappointed if we lose that one.

Like Sunday at Detroit?
Play Exum 35 mins and reduce Burke to 13. Better yet, where is Diante?
Does ANYONE still want to defend Burke's shooting? Oh wait...2-7 from 3PT range actually INCREASES his percentage. Never mind.
What are Kanter's 3pt numbers?
