What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Just downloaded Netflix on my Wii Kicky. Watching my first movie on there now.

The China Syndrome.

Jack Lemmon should not be smiling on that cover. At one point in the movie, Grand Egghead explains the China syndrome, saying this: "And then it would melt through the bottom of the reactor, down through the earth, and keep going. Theoretically it would go all the way to China."

"You idiot!" I shouted at my television. "It would not go all the way to China. Gravity doesn't work that way. You call yourself a physicist?! Who wrote this screenplay!?"

Except for that one line, though, I found it to be an excellent movie.

Loved it.

Especially wonderful considering the level to which death as a subject is taboo in Japanese culture. Couldn't have been handled with more grace and dignity.

Oh, and it's on Netflix Watch Instantly.

I'm watching Solitary Man tonight and 51 Birch Street is coming in the mail tomorrow.

I watched Bigger, Stronger, Faster this weekend and found it interesting. I also watched a documentary titled Babies. The film follows the first year and a half of four babies, from the U.S., Mongolia, Africa, and Japan, I believe. Pretty interesting, but without any dialogue, I got bored within the first hour.

I refused to go to this movie with the Madame. It was a guaranteed ovary rumbler. Glad to hear I didn't miss much.

This movie had the best timing for a release ever as it opened a couple weeks before the Three Mile Island accident.
