What's new

Game tonight! Magic at Jazz 7:00 pm mtn. The last best chance to break the losing streak

A few distrubing trends continue...

1) Man the Jazz suck in the first half. Just flat out suck. It's embarrassing watching these clowns play in the first half, to the point where it's not worth watching. Quin should think about mixing up the lineups just to see if they can break out of whatever funk they seem to start out with

2) If the Jazz hit their FTs, they win the game. This team is just dreadful at FT shooting. I don't understand it. I honestly don't understand how any professional basketball player is bad at FTs, but guards especially missing more than 2 a game is a disgrace.

And it was wonderful to see Max Hayward come up small in this game. He was absolutely brutal tonight. I don't know why he thinks he can go out of control into the lane and get bailed out time and time again. At times he focused on that than finishing the damn play.

Great points. Trey was also pretty brutal. I think the refs missed a call. Looked like he stepped out as he went down and tried to roll the ball into the lane. Think we got a jump ball out of that one which Favors won.

Jazz do need a lineup change, but with Burks out, maybe Hood starting is the only one he makes for now. Rodney made some shots tonight.

I AM encouraged by whatever halftime adjustments are being made. Jazz have owned the 3rd quarters. That's a good sign from a rookie coach.

myth debunked.

Here's something that's not a myth. Trey Burke sucks balls. Not only do the stats support that fact, but anybody who is actually a JAZZ FAN, and not just a Trey Burke fan, should be able to see it clearly. He gets his *** whooped on defense every single time without fail and he is shooting horrifically. Most importantly, the team does not look good most of the time when is the PG. He has moments where he hits a big shot, or has a drive and dish, but on the balance, he is a liability on both ends of the court. He has been the worst starter by far, and probably the worst player on the team period.

I get that you have these 10 inch thick homer glasses on with Burke. But I don't get why that means you should even say anything and attempt to defend what has been indefensibly bad play from your guy. Just keep your mouth shut until your man quits playing like a damn joke every night. Then come in here and tell us how wrong we are.

trey burke just gets destroyed on screens and he gets ate up alive on the first step. Oladipo made it look easy.

I'm not in favour of antoher tanking season...we are doing collection of first-round draft picks....but this team does not improve and we are always in the same situation.

OMG OMG We tanked for a WHOLE year and everything is NOT fixed. ****ing Obama!

I'm really frustrated that Hayward didnt play better. This is a game we really should have won. I mean Nik Vucevic was out! We gotta win that game at home. Hayward has to score more than 9 points and Trey has to learn how to get over those picks.
Am I the only one that is getting frustrated that when WE run the pick and roll it seems to get us nowhere? Burke just ends up getting trapped by two defenders.
Hood played decent which was good to see.
And Favors played well. I really wish we could get him more open shots from 15 feet out, he has shown to have a good jumper from that range this year

Besides, all of you are overreacting. It was just one game where Burks was out, Hayward wasn't very good, and Burke couldn't shoot. It's just one game

I've only watched the first half. It was a pretty sad game. Feels like déjà vu. Every game we dig into a hole and play awful. Really tired of it.
I really like burke but his pick n roll defense makes me cringe every time

I think people forget defense like shooting is correctable. Defense more than all the physical attributes is about effort. It takes a great deal of conditioning for players to be positive two way players. Trey is not even 1/4 way through his 2nd season in the NBA.

"BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP BUT THE SCHEDULE WILL LIGHTEN UP" BUT IT JUST ****ING DID AND THE JAZZ STILL LOST.

Ya but the schedule is going to get easier

We haven't even played the Lakers, Minnesota or Philadelphia yet. Schedule will lighten up. I see us doubling our win total over the next 20 games.

^^ Not too bad, Burke's amazing assist/turnover ratio keeps improving, and is generally under appreciated.

9th in the league i believe. and trey is 15th in assists among PGs.

i firmly believe trey had a rough offensive start in the 1st 10 games due to the change in the system and style. he looks more comfortable as of late.

i don't even care about trey's D. he never was a lock down defender. defense will get better albeit slowly. but i need trey to keep improving his point guard skills. we really need trey to be aggressive and find dudes in the 1st half. so tired of seeing slow starts.

This is the part were I think people hate for Burke is illogical. How many players are really good two way players this early in their careers? They seem to have all the hope and patience in the world that Exum can completely transform himself into a passing Kobe Bryant(even though he's no were near the athlete Kobe was at the same age), but seems to think it's impossible that Burke can become a quality defender over time.

Doesn't that graph indicate 12th?

You don't care about Trey's D? I guess you must have loved Boozer, too. I'm tired of the slow starts, but we also have NO chance to win when giving up 60+ points in the first half.

I will give you two things about Trey: great A/TO ratio and very good shooting in the last 5 minutes of the game.

it is what it is. i'm not gonna expect lockdown D from trey. it's like asking steve nash to play tough D. trey will get better at D, but it's not his forte. but there are many areas where i expect him to get better. and if he doesn't get better at in those area then we will always be a bottom feeder with trey being a starting PG.

i'm not gonna friggin give up on a 2nd year player who's learning the new system. if exum is playing lights out and looks ready, then hell yeah, we throw him into the wolves. but we all know exum isn't ready yet.

and at the end of the day, trey was 9th pick in a weak draft. we can always bench him and make him be our back up PG. many teams would die for trey as their backup.

And a 2nd year player. With all the fuss around Jabari Parker and how pro ready he was he isn't setting the league a blaze. Not because he doesn't have the talent, and it certainly doesn't mean he won't in a few years. However improving takes time. Trey isn't even half way through his second season.

Trey has a reputation as an extremely hard worker. How about people actually wait longer than one off season to see if that hard work pays off?
