Lyles

We can compare Lyles to Hayward when he drops a 34 point game in his rookie year.

because scoring is the only legitimate way to make a comparison? Because one game is sufficient evidence for any kind of claim?

How did you get a hold of a plaster mold of Hayward's member?

Since this thread will get bumped later (for one reason or another), I'll repost this here, for posterity.

(Originally posted on December 26th; not my first pro-Lyles post):

I meant to type up some responses I had to seeing the Jazz in real life and up close, but didn't. If I had, then I would have praised Lyles. I liked him much more than I expected. I think his potential understanding and feel for the game, if realized, could make him an excellent complementary player. His defense is ahead of where I thought it'd be; he can thread some very good passes; he's a better rebounder than I thought he'd be at this point; etc. Once he finds his shot and his favorite spots on the floor, then he'll make a measurable leap. I'm glad we drafted him over Booker, even though I've said otherwise.

Since then, he's made more obvious improvements. Good player.

Lyles is really growing on me. At this point, I'm much more comfortable when he's on the floor over Booker.

It's crazy how much more comfortable and confident Lyles has gotten compared to the start of the season. He can, and likely will become that stretch 4 that Dennis has always been wanting. Considering we're a team that plays big with Favors and Gobert, having an option like Lyles on the bench will be a very good thing moving forward.

He's also the best bench cheerleader we've had in years.

I'm surprised Lyles has contributed this year. Like at all.
I thought he would need a minimum of two full years to get stronger and gain confidence.
He will be a good shooter for years and could we become a great piece.. just surprised to see anything this early.

He looks much better. His confidence is building and I see how he could be really effective. Reminds me off hood last year a bit. Can see that he can get where he wants to with the ball and gets decent looks. Some nights they fall. He has been competing so much more defensively than preseason and early regular season.

I agree on all points.

His cheerleading is epic. I look forward to seeing the bench when a good play is made way more often now.

Lyles rebounds and hits jumpers a bit like Carlos Boozer, if you'll pardon the analogy. He also has some of the same knack for finishing near the rim.
