The Official Star Wars Thread of Jazzfanz

I haven't seen the movie but have read about it and one thing that intrigues me is what I am assuming is the last scene. A boy uses the force to pull a broom to himself as he fiddles with the resistance ring on his hand and looks to the sky.

Any of you that have seen the movie care to provide any context or describe if any weight was added to the scene. I am hoping for more Jedi and Sith in future movies. Especially non-humans

This is true. He is in the movie earlier and has already helped the resistance and shown a fiery personality to stand up against cruel and unfair treatment of others. He received the resistance ring from a resistance fighter that he helps. The scene didn't feel critically important. The movement of the broom via the force was subtle. It wasn't like it flew across the room or jumped into his hand. It is leaning against the wall and he reaches for it. Just a few inches but it was very casual and easy as if he does this all the time without even thinking about it.

So a tease things that might happen but not really committing to anything.

My impression was that it was just showing there are resistance fighters joining and force users everywhere. I think that kid specifically might not be meaningful.

Can anyone explain the mirror and the dark side hole thing to me?

Could it have been something Snoke created?

If not, another theory I have is you know how somebody said in the movie (I don't remember who) "where there is great evil - there is great good"? Same principle applies to the Jedi temple/island, it is somewhat of a holy place, but at the same time there is also 'evil' hiding there to suck you in if you would let it.

Anyway, anyone else notice how they really went out of their way to find a love interest for Finn? It was easily the most boring part of the film for me, their 'adventure' to find the code breaker at the casino. Just don't feel like it added to the overall story at all.

I don't know if Finn & Rey were meant to be a thing from the Force Awaken, but to me it was pretty obvious that the focus group didn't like the pairing. I mean, it's obvious right? They would just be too intense/hyper as a couple, and there was just no chemistry - the situation forced them to meet but that was all it was.

Feels to me like they had to scramble quickly to find Finn a new girl in Rose to end any future speculation about Finn/Rey and nip that in the bud.
