Utah Trade Deadline Discussion

Tomic doesn't even want to be in the NBA.
Nonsense. He's ring chasing. The Cavs would be wise to make the move. They may face the Spurs in the finals and could find themselves in need of a Gasol stopper.

Hood is good, but Hood isnt get back 3 positive assets good.

That may be true. But my counterargument would be that they aren't just getting Hood. We are also taking Bayless off of their books which is something they want. Plus if Korkmaz is one of the positive assets we are getting back we are taking a risk because of his Lisfranc injury. So it may warrant more in return.

I don't think it's that simple for Utah.

If you deal Favors then you need to find a replacement for Favors. The Jazz currently have 3 PF's on the roster, but the word seems to be that JJ is getting bought out post-deadline if he isnt moved. If you move Favors, then all you are left with is Jerebko. They'd also have Niang on a 2-way contract, but for a team trying to make a playoff push it seems unlikely that they would want to go w/ a Jerebko/Niang rotation at the 4.

*Id love to see Niang get minutes though just to see if he can play in the NBA. He has been incredible in the G-League*

I think Royce can play small ball 4 too. I don't think Favs is moved for nothing. He's been great lately and his 15-20 footer is pretty damn automatic right now... so I agree.

I'm not moving Favs just for matching expiring salary and a crap second rounder... if it's pick 30-37 or if he is needed to add value to Hood then okay. I think we could get a PF in the deal too.

Whateve happens with Favs... I'm a fan for life. Straight class.

This sounds somewhat dumb but they also need to clear some roster spots for next year. They have so many seconds and guys like Bolden won't wait forever. They need to consolidate some of their stuff... TLC, Anderson, Korkmaz... I bet one gets dealt in the next 6 months.

We've gone from "we will for sure make a trade, it would be a huge failure if we did not" to "yeah I'm okay if we don't make trades."

Bayless is only owed 8 million. It's no big deal to them.

One thing I thought today... Cleveland should offer their first and Osman to BKN for Dinwiddie. Increase the value of the BKN pick and get good cheap production.

Not sure the Nets would say yes, but they are likely now starting their full rebuild this offseason.

Moving the pick, Bayless, and Korkmaz gets them to $35M in cap space for LBJ... then they can make a max offer while retaining Hood's cap hold.

It certainly adds value for them, but not as much as taking salary from a tax strapped team.

If we are going to bring up LeBron, and I'm not joking, his best fit for the next 4 year contract would be with us. If we were able to shed Burks, renounce Thabo and Jerekbo, maybe Udoh, we could have:

PG Rubio
SG Mitchell
SF Ingles
PF LeBron
C Gobert
Exum, O'Neale, our 2018 1st, Bradley

You can't leave Ingles or Mitchell open. Gobert cleans up the paint. Our defense would be unreal. The roster takes pressure off of LeBron having to do everything. And if he is worried about legacy, he would be the GOAT if he brought a title to Cleveland AND Utah.

Ok, im not LoPo's alt; i promise.

Reports are that LBJ's relationship with Gilbert is again falling apart. That team is a mess and Gilbert is hemorraging money and doesnt want to commit to salaries like Hill to fix this year.

If Lebron cant go to GS. Houston or Boston, what team offerx him the best shot at a title? Utah!

It aint going to happen, but its a wonderful fantasy.
