Jazz-Rockets game thread, happy groundhog day

We're 2-2 vs the Rockets this year. Calm the proverbial F down everyone. If at the beginning of the year we knew we'd split the games with them, you all would've been stoked about it.

Eh. We also would have expected Houston to be one of the top-three WC teams - not one who's slumped most the season. The Jazz got their butts handed to 'em, at home, by a team coming off an embarrassing loss the night before to Denver. We couldn't even manage to hit 100 despite the Rockets giving up 100+ in all but one of their last eight games and allows 111 PPG on average this season. I think it's time to concede this Jazz team just isn't very good.

1 W in the next 8 - Phoenix next game. I unfortunately think it could happen. Someone talk me back from the edge.

We'll be favourites against the Suns, Spurs, Mavs and Clippers at the very least. If you ignore playoff history we tend to play the Warriors pretty well in their building too, but Cousins is a major matchup problem for the Jazz if it means he'll pull Gobert away from the rim. Deadline is the day after the Suns game too so if the Jazz are getting anyone we'll have them at best for the Spurs game, otherwise we'll get them for the Warriors game and all the games post all star break.

But they did. I may be pretty drunk but I'm pretty sure James Harden is 80% biased referees, 10% garbage media like ESPN and 10% actual talent. He's definitely the worst and most manufactured MVP in NBA's 70-year history.
I would bump talent to 20%. He can shoot a bit.

I told you guys this team wasn't fixed or there yet. We are still flawed but awesome.

We need Conley.

Trash take.

He whooped our ***.

Dante hurry up come back from injury. The jazz need you to beat good teams. They can only beat bad to average teams
Yeah, I guess they didn't beat Denver a couple weeks ago. Then again, I'm guessing you couldn't read a schedule unless it was written in crayon for you.

Damn. I knew Harden was gonna get his but it was frustrating to see Faried playing so well against us.

11-41 from three is a joke. When a team is ranked 24/30 in three point percentage they shouldn't be chucking three after three.

It wouldn't even feel so bad if Capella and CP3 had played. I swear it's a curse when opposing teams are missing starters.

Made the mistake of going to that game...Ouch. 8 hours driving, $300 for tickets, and the highlight was the halftime show, which sucks in case you needed that clarified. When a game starts with Faried dominating it's going to be a long night. Jazz were slow/sluggish/awful. Favors played well, that's it for the green jerseys, although I saw Ekpe hit 5 threes in a row an hour before the game. Pretty sure I had never seen Korver miss two straight free throws, nor would have I believed it was possible. The Jazz were in a very giving mood. Harden was easily the best player on the floor/Faried and Green fighting for next. I'm glad there's only one game left before trade deadline. The Jazz played like a team mired in the sorrow of losing a loved one or ten.

It's sad when favors plays well equates to 4 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 fouls. He did have some awesome blocks though.

I think people take a very black and white view of the idea of the league and officials having a bias, believing that it’s all rigged where they’re determining outcomes behind some closed door, or it’s 100% legit and outcomes are dictated entirely on team play and officiating is not at all a variable determinate of outcome.

I think the best analogy would be using bumper lanes in bowling. Someone could roll a strike, or a spare, or anything really, and you could make the legitimate argument that they rolled that thing and knocked down whatever they did. You could likewise argue that the amount of time the ball and bumpers even make contact is so minuscule in terms of how long the ball rolls down the lane, probably less than one one-thousandth of the time, that the effect of the bumpers is so insignificant and meaningless that it’d be preposterous to talk about. In reality, though, I think people underestimate how much momentum can be gained and how certain storylines can be pushed with some gentle wind at the back. It doesn’t require any kind of grand conspiracy and it really doesn’t require much effort, it just requires clearing a path when momentum builds.

We tried to beat the Rockets at their own game. 41 three's for a team that ranks 24/30 in them. I've said this many times, but if Quin is dead set on shooting this many 3s, at least trade for personnel who can make them. Don't expect career < 35% shooters to consistently make them.

You're right Fish! He played well defensively. That's more than I would say of anyone else. It was a brutal showing.
True. Not many silver linings. Favors blocks and Spidas assists, and Rudy getting another double double is about it. Horrible game

Not me. I don't think anything is rigged. I do believe the refs have an effect on the games. Sometimes more than other times. And I think that the officials favor the stars too much and favor harden an extra amount on top of the typical star treatment.

Got any more money you want to throw away? I payed 10 bucks to see Stockton and Malone and that was barely worth it! To pay anymore than that to see these clowns is a total waste of money! About the only guys worth paying to see these days is Harden, Westbrook and the GS Warriors.

I'm just curious carolinajazz, are you bipolar? You are either insanely up or down on the team, never seems to be any middle ground (or reality).
