What's new

The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

The interesting thing to me about the fallout from all of this is that all the prominent GOP figures have had one of two responses:

1) VERY strident defenses of Trump's handling of Ukraine. To the point of refusing to acknowledge that it's even possible for him to have done something wrong. (the approach you see from NPC and Catchall here); or

2) Total Silence

Camp 1 is tribal epistemology. The truth value of any piece of information is wholly defined by how much it benefits the tribe. Anything unhelpful is a "lie." These people are unreachable. At this point they are not even defending Trump as much as they are defending their previous defense of Trump. They are too ideologically pre-committed to change course.

Trump's fate is going to be determined by group #2. And the more pressure put on them, the more likely we are to finally have something happen that has quite obviously needed to happen for going on three years now - someone holding Trump truly accountable for the things he says and does.

Lol.

So you are part of group #2 ?

You are the hero in the story? You are gonna save the world? Can you hear yourself?

Also, everything you claim the right is guilty of is exactly what the left is guilty of. Tribalism, too ideologically pre-committed, etc..

Everyone who is calling for Trumps head are all unhinged lunatics. You take none to flimsy at best evidence and try to frame it as something else entirely, and none of it is your evidence. You are just parroting whatever a clearly biased political group tells you too.

You are on the wrong side of history and one day you will be embarrassed by the way you behaved during these times.

Could it possibly be clearer he hasn't read the posts I've written in this thread?

Of course, that too.

Notcie how the rest of the horses are just depressing and hopeless? While the Trump horse holds his head high and isnt ashamed.

This boggles the mind. Hollywood wouldn't even buy a script like this.

Why is your mind boggled?

The Democrats have the Media and intelligence agencies they are colluding with so Giuliani has to go Matlock on these fools.

Rudy needs prison. Along with Barr. Drain the swamp.

Just crazy. The corruption is endless

Thanks for the laugh Thriller. Trump is trying to drain the swamp and the democrats need prison time, because their corruption is endless. Have you seen the Biden tape where he brags about withholding a billion and a half from Ukraine until they agree to fire the prosecutor investigating the company paying for his cocaine son sitting on their board? Corruption is the democrats middle name.

If you like it then I will keep doing it. Just for you.

But just so we are clear, you and I dont have the same idea on what "valid" criticism is. I dont view lies and slander to be "valid" criticism.

Snakes and Alligators.

"I dont view lies and slander to be "valid" criticism"

In your head, you believe that. And since you believe that, I'll add to it that we seem to have the same idea on what valid criticism is.

Except you don't practice what you think you believe. You bitched about Biden's quid pro quo, and tried to devalue whistleblower concerns on what dawnie did. You left out:

  1. Historical context on what was happening in Ukraine at the time
  2. Historical context on who was bitching about corruption in Ukraine before Biden stepped in
  3. Why Biden positioned to have the prosecutor general of Ukraine removed
  4. That Biden didn't get anything out of it
Did you even bother reading the link I posted? The one that drew a very inclusive timeline of events?

You can say you did. But If you say you did, and your stance is the same after reading and understanding it, I don't believe you.

We will give Mr President a pass this time. He has to deal with unhinged evil people on a daily basis.

Well, he should not have hired Rudy Giuliani for one, and allowed him to be turned loose in front of a camera nearly every day. Nor should he have made leading conspiracy nut job Sean Hannity one of his chief advisors.

But, really, Mr. President entered the Oval Office as an unhinged loose cannon, and if he keeps it up, he'll be leaving in a straight jacket.

But, no pass I'm afraid. If he can't control himself with a head of state standing along side him, the world's cameras upon him, then shame on him. He is the leader of the unhinged brigade, and he can take responsibility for himself.

Well... there goes his defense that the call was “perfect” and that he’s not asking countries to manufacture dirt on his political opponents. Can I be a whistleblower too? The potus is abusing his office:

"Circus Trump": what the White House press conference looked like to the Finns:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...-describe-parallel-reality-resembling-circus/

"Meanwhile, Niinisto largely looked on in silence. Photos of his bewildered face quickly circulated online. But when Trump began responding to a question addressed to Niinisto, he interrupted: “I think the question is for me.”

In what Finnish commentators suggested was a subtle dig at Trump, Niinisto at one point also said: “Mr. President, you have here a great democracy. Keep it going on.” (Trump appeared to interpret that remark as praise.)

Not subtle at all to those who have experience in high context cultures. Americans, in general, (and especially Americans like President Trump) have difficulty picking up on non-verbal cues and indirect speech. I see the above statement as a blatant rebuke.
