Imagine thinking that Hollywood is vacuous and superficial is a brave and controversial take.
Like, no **** lol.
What are they gonna do, not clap? There is an element of bravery when it's done directly to their faces......at their own awards show.
Are celebrities citizens?
Then why the **** should their opinions be downplayed any more than anyone else's?
Those aren't the Hollywood norm. Anyone with half a brain knows what is or no?
Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I honestly don't believe these people hold the values they proclaim to. They are making these statements to prop themselves up, and advance their careers. If they were actually virtuous people, Harvey Weinstein would have been outed a decade ago.
It's also true that sometimes things are tolerated until a breaking point is reached.
Good to know that in Hollywood the 80th woman being sexually abused or raped by a man in power is the breaking point.
There is no Hollywood norm. Hollywood has conservatives, liberals, and others; all kinds of religions, etc. It's run by some of the wealthiest people in the country.
Lower than many fraternities, or corporate board rooms.
Sorry, but pretending this is a Hollywood issue won't fly with anyone who knows what the world is like.
Fraternities, sure, but lmao at the idea that corporations don't virtue signal. You are missing the key difference. Fraternities and corporate board rooms don't virtue signal on television or other forms of media to millions of people on a regular basis.
They can have an opinion. They just have a much bigger platform and influence than the common folk.

The vast majority of Hollywood are liberals. 100% fact.
So wealthy white men can't be liberals? I'm confused. The vast majority of actors, perhaps. The executives are wealthy white men.
For one thing, this was being done by one of their own.Honest question... How is this different then telling an athlete to shut up and dribble? Many on here I've seen side with the athlete when they voice an opinion. I think its just as stupid for someone to look at Hollywood as a pro athlete as a moral compass, but there are those that do.

Expect for those in Hollywood. They rarely are.
