2020 Presidential election

I think there should be % caps on salary, bonuses, and stock that executives can make. Think that would be a good starting point to make things more equitable.

24% fed (up to $157k)
6.2% fica
5% state
1.45% Medicare

under 38%

in Cali state tax is 12%, which takes you to ~45%. But that is not a federal issue.

Also, not sure why you would include sales tax since no one is being forced to buy taxable goods with marginal overtime pay.

No reason for you to assume you know so much. The IRS required 37.3%, and it doesn't stop with the IRS. I find a 50% rate ridiculous, and so would most of you if your effective tax rate on your main employment was equally high.

There is nothing special about what I know. I know the federal tax rates, they are common knowledge and established by law.

Rates are 37% for income over ~$550k. No one pays 37.3% federal.

So yeah, I’m totally calling BS.

Well, person A and person B led very different work lives and different quality of lives so I say yes they should be taxed differently.

Overtime sucks. Working tons of hours sucks but some of have to do it while some of us don't.
I think those that are unfortunate enough to have to work tons of overtime could use a reward.

I respect your opinion. I like taxes to be kept simple.

You're way too daft to figure it out even if I held your hand across this street, which I'm not going to do. I paid 37.3%, cupcake.

My wife is an enrolled agent who prepares taxes for a living. She assured me that it is you who are daft, paying more than the max required by law.

She’s not sure if you are an idiot or a liar.

Yeah it's called polls, projections, and precedent.

He’s clearly heavily favored but if you think it is a 100% lock, I disagree. Precedent: does history always repeat? Is there anything unique about this year? Polls are imperfect, projections are imprecise.
