I guess with KD's age and type of surgery it isn't a big deal but normally I would think someone coming off a major surgery (Achilles for him) would be at risk, even if for an infection.
Like my mom had her knee replaced 7 or 8 weeks ago and they told her even catching a common cold or fever would now be more harmful as it could risk infecting her knee.
