What's new

What's your offseason dream for the Jazz?

Wathever be there to fill our PF need and if possible, keep Clarkson. A better veteran backup center would be helpful too

When Conley opts in and we have a huge expiring in his contract what kind of return will we be able to get for him?

Realistically? A better player on a bad contract. Somebody like Blake Griffin or Kevin Love.

I personally hope Wood leaves Detroit and they can't sign anybody significant. For some reason, they think Conley helps right their terrible ship. Conley and 2nd rounders for Snell works. Detroit gets a much needed leader and we get some savings.

After looking at Christian Woods game log for the last 2 months of playing time, I’m sold. How much do you think it would cost to get him though??

Due to Covid 19, the NBA would have to create some sort of insurance waiver so every team could release 1 contract. For us, that would no doubt be Conley due to $35 million for next season. That would give us more money than the MLE which gives us a shot. Then we'd have to convince him to sign here.

Highly unlikely unfortunately

I find Rudy's decline in defensive effort and efficiency as this season wore on more than a little concerning. I just hope he and the staff figure this part out and fix it. Otherwise could bode very badly for us. He's not good enough in any other area to weather an extended slump in his primary skill-set, defense .

I still like Glenn Robinson III as a relatively cheap FA pickup. He reportedly wasn't happy with his role in Philly. He's 6'7", solid defensively, shoots 39% from 3pt and can score a bit in mid-range. We might be able to pick him up at 2 years and $5M or $6M.

I’m thinking he signs 3/36. Had the season not ended prematurely it would’ve been more.

If we had a shot I would be willing to slightly overpay for him. I am convinced a player of his caliber and skill set is our missing piece. even up to 14 or maybe even 15 per. I think he was headed to a full break-out and that has just been delayed. Would love to see Wood rise in our team.

OPJ at the 2 is a terrible idea. He’s a 3/4, even more so after bad injuries than before.

I’d do Rudy for him if I knew we could sign Udoh and get a legit stretch 4 who plays d. But there’s no way to know all that.

Wooah. I’m not decided one way or the other but I was thinking some more like a package based around bogie would be more reasonable. King’s are pinched for money, bogey gives them similar shooting and numbers while being locked in for 3 more years and plays at a position none of their young core guys play at (unlike their bogie/hield situation rn). The upside for us is that hield is 27 so he’s got more longevity and potential development still. This would all be contingent on us finding a new home for Conley or Conley accepting a role on the bench. Again, I’m not necessarily decided on this proposition but it’s a thoughts thread and here is my thought.

Positionless basketball. Let his length bother the smaller guys on the perimeter, and if they get around him they can meet Wood and Gobert at the rim.

No threes. No layups.
