Mitchell injury

I've seen him on the bench and it doesn't look he's got a boot on or hobbling at all. I think the Jazz are hiding something, a smokescreen as someone said.

I think they're just playing conservative with him and Conley and figure a top 2 seed is fine as long as they protect their guys for the playoffs.

If DM is missing the rest of the season, then how likely is it he will be miraculously healed for the start of the playoffs?

Yikes.

Have there been any teams that have won the championship with their best player missing the last month of the regular season? He’s going to need to get back into playing shape (if he even comes back) and the playoffs seem ill suited for that.

On 97.5 they were saying that the doctor/trainer or whomever said his progress was going great but just not yet.

Time. More than 10 days left until the start of the playoffs. So resting him now seems like the smart choice.

It's just a sprained ankle, but sprained ankle's are easily reagrivatiable if you dont rest them. The Jazz are just being precautious. The Jazz can warm up in the 1st round and still win. It might result in a longer series, but Conley/Mitchell can play into shape against the Warriors/Grizz/Spurs/Etc

Bummer. Will he not get All NBA do to missed? Wouldn't it cost him 30 million on his contract? I feel bad.
So he'll get like 130 million instead of 160 million. Or is it 150 instead of 180? Not sure why but I'm finding it hard to muster many tears.

And it will also help the Jazz cap situation.
If you see players constantly not being named to All NBA teams, All Star, etc because they play for a small-market Jazz, that's a problem, but if they miss it due to injuries, well...

Pretty much all the Jazz beat writers agree (Jones, Walden and the other guy whose name I can't remember - the 40 year old virgin) that if the playoffs started today Mitchell would be playing.

Mike too.

If we end up playing Memphis or GS in the first round, this approach to being extra cautious with Mike and Donovan is probably a good call. If we have to play the Lakers in round 1, and need to be geared up playing 100%, it might end up biting us.

Gobert is our best player. We be fine.

I am pretty sure Mitchell and Conley are getting training reps. It's not like they are coming back from significant injuries that prevent them from activity. They will be fine. These guys play 80 games a season, they will not be rusty because they rested for 10-15 games.

I guarantee you he’s fully healed. The jazz are just being cautious. The jazz also have extra time to integrate him back to game speed during the play in tournament through practice. He’ll still be a bit rusty but I think after the first game or so he’ll be fine.
