What's new

Jazz are committed to Donovan as cornerstone according to Woj

It's sad because when he was a rookie full of excitement and energy Jazz Nation LOVED Don, and thought he was our version of Michael Jordan.
I don't think Don is MJ by any means, but MJ won one playoff game in his first 3 seasons. In 1987, Chicago added Pippen and Coach Phil Jackson.

Year 4 - MJ one won series then lost to Detroit in 5

Year 5 - MJ won two series then lost to Detroit in 6

Year 6 - MJ won two series then lost in 7

MJ desperately needed Pippen. Don needs a Pippen.

I just want to stay positive.

If we made this trade and still had Quin and his system, I wouldn't be as optimistic. But we don't know Hardy. We don't know his system or how good he can be.

I'm gonna stay positive and stand firm that there is no reason to "blow it up" and trade Don.

No I agree that we need to give him a chance. We’re not a tank team and never have been. Hopefully he stays motivated on the defensive end.

My biggest concern is his antics on social media. If he starts clowning us again and undermining the program after the All Star break, I hope management has the cajones to give him a one way ticket out of Dodge. I don’t want a Brooklyn situation here where we’re coddling pampered super stars!

I think it's been pretty clear that Don doesn't have as much say as yall we saying.

We didn't hire his buddy
We released his buddy
We traded his buddy

Rudy getting traded was good business and the right call whether Don liked it or not.

I think DA has helped the organization pivot on DM. Prior to DA, the organization was starry eyed NBA2K idiots. DA came in and said "Heck no, that's not how you run an organization. No player is bigger than the team." He probably also used some other Utah words like "super", "sic", "green jello", "fetch", "dirty Diet Coke", "fry sauce".

I get your general point, but it feels more like we have our Pippen and need an MJ.

Man can you do me a favor, and just post that in here instead:

Tag whoever you want to talk to. Just a way to not derail every single thread with the same exact argument.

I think the Jazz are making a big mistake in not getting max value out of Donovan while he can still barely dunk. We're not going to re-tool quickly enough to take advantage of him so what's the point? Are the Jazz scared of losing their fan base?
I feel ya bro. I mean I too feel he may be in decline as evidenced last year with traffic cone defense against the Mavs. A lot of folks thought he was outplayed by both Dinwidee and Brunson let alone Doncic. Ryan wants to have one All Star to trot out on National TV for our inaugural hosting of the event.

Why don't you post facts instead of your interpretations of social media?

Are we a playoff team with this roster right now? I say probably a play in team.

As the roster as it is right now which is a clusterf**k we are a play-in team. We aren’t done making moves this won’t be even close to the final roster.

If we were able to grab Ayton and move one of our guards for a wing then I think we start moving up.

I would trade Conley and one of the super valuable picks for Ayton.

I would rather trade Conley than Bogey as well.

I am curious to see how DM responds to a 35 win team. I mean, he already had one eye on playing for the Knicks with the best record in the NBA. I am concerned he will be totally exposed as a fraud and his trade value will tank next year.

Hey now, Udoka was our #2 prospect overall. He has a ton of upside if he can stay healthy.
I loved him as an early second round prospect pre-draft, so I am not going to be sarcastic. He just doesn't look ready for what's coming if we tank.
