I thought the Pistons sent the Jazz money in the amount of Lee's salary so it can be used to pay anyone's salary.
It probably went something like this:

Jazz (to Pistons): we're not really all that excited about Lee, but we realize we have to take his salary to make the deal work. So send us enough money to cover cutting him.

Jazz (to themselves): we'll use the money toward cutting anyone we want if we need to make that decision at the end of camp.

I generally agree. I think you either squint and try to pretend he's Ricky Rubio, or you move on. Right now, his greatest appeal may be as a point-of-attack defender. He is actually quite good defending the ball.
I think part of my irrational stanning of Bolmaro is that the Jazz have struggled for so long to find both big guards who can play-make along with our smaller scoring guards as well as good point-of-attack defenders. Here's someone with potential to be both, if we can just figure out a way to make him enough of an offensive threat to survive. But the "if" is a pretty big one.

I actually think Lee has more Caruso in him than Bolmaro.

I'm not particularly hopeful with Bolmaro because if you can't shoot outside and you can't finish at the rim... you are basically unplayable unless the other stuff you do is phenomenal.
Bolmaro is strange because his shot isn't broken but he has never shot well from the outside. I can't help but think that some day it will click if given consistent minutes.

The simple thing that keeps Bolmaro for us is that he plays forward. We have way more guards than forward.

Kind of interesting to note if we cut Butler that means we really only have two PG's on the roster unless you are counting Balmero.

I think the big Idea of Bolmaro would be the possibility of you getting some Ingles/Kyle Anderson low usage type of point forward

Best case scenario as far as I'm concerned is trading Mike Conley, Rudy Gay and Jared Butler for Gordon Hayward and then buy him out to go play for a contender. Problem solved, and we preserve our youth movement.

Short of a three for one buy out scenario, second best case scenario may be an Olynyk and Gay buy out and waive the loser of the Lee/Butler camp showdown.

Haven’t seen him in any of the team building videos either… is he here? If we loved him so much and really wanted him to flourish I’d think he would be here. He might be here and I just haven’t seen it.
I’m pretty sure JZ said that THT arrived in Utah as soon as the trade happened and had been working out at the practice facilities ever since. Not sure why he hasn’t made the videos.

Maybe, except the difference I see there is that Ingles and Anderson had guard skills with the speed/quickness/agility of a (slow, in their case) forward. You don't want them guarding guards most of the time. But you really do want Bolmaro guarding guards, I think.

22 days until roster set deadline.
I just want Rudy Gay gone; I won't feel good as long as he's around.
I think I recall someone saying that he was in really good shape. Might be able to become a good role player again and gain some trade value before the deadline.

It's probably all true; you might be correct.
Nevertheless, as a fan, I can't stand the guy being around anymore.
He's supposed to be a real pro vet. Jazz contract him well and more than fair. Dude responded by being an aggregate problem for a group of mostly good guys that just were totally out of synch for they were outpeaked. F him. Get him outta here and away of our new young group.
Prototypical addition by substraction IMHO.

I just saw the Clipps signed Juwan Morgan to an Exhibit 10. Maybe the Jazz can trade Gay and two other dregs for him with the view he will be cut and play for the Stars. Juwan is playing with House money as the Pacers signed him to a guaranteed deal and then had to waive him when they put in the bid for Ayton. He is on easy street for this season.
