He lacks quickness and explosion and can’t generate his own shot. Man closest to the door IMO.Surprised you guys reckon they'll move on from Butler so quickly, that said he hardly set the world on fire last year.
I'm curious what kind of player you think Bolmaro is. I've been under the impression that his perimeter defense is his calling card at this point.i'd even take forrest over bolmaro. at least forrest got perimeter D that translates. none of bolmaro's skills translate to the NBA. waive bolmaro and bring back forrest
It will be whoever it's cheapest to waive, since the contracts stay on the books. I'm guessing Butler, Johnson, Lee.
Cheapest to move on from, assuming no trades.
If they stay on the books then why does being the cheapest matter?
Bolmaro’s defense BPM was -0.7 last season. Forrest by comparison is +1.2.I'm curious what kind of player you think Bolmaro is. I've been under the impression that his perimeter defense is his calling card at this point.
At this point, who wants Gay as a throw in? I mean, I can see the theory. But he has negative value with his contract, and that seems unlikely to change. What kind of deal opens up for us with Gay that is unavailable without? I'm having a hard time thinking of realistic scenarios. At least one of Lee and Butler will most likely get cut. Both have contracts that expire after this season.
Stanley Johnson could be on the bubble. His contract is only partially guaranteed.
I'm sure the Jazz would *love* to unload Rudy Gay, but he'll probably hang around as a throw-in for a future trade.
That’s an interesting observation and why this season though flagged as a “no contest” is going to be so interesting (for nerds like me anyway). What in the hell did we have to be excited about preseason last year? We had two journeymen signings in Gay and Whiteside and a second rounder that had won the MVP in his team’s championship game. As fans I think we all clamored around Butler because what the hell else did we have to be excited about? How did management think that that collection of misfits could move the needle for us. Whereas, any of Fontechio, Beasley, Vando even THT would have been a welcome addition and we haven’t even addressed our new potential double digit earning Stars.Funny how we all went from being so excited about Butler before the season last year to thinking there's a good chance he gets cut this year. Even the media was really high on him last year, I remember the press conference with Quin during pre-season when he snapped at the reporters and said that so far, they'd asked him twice as many questions about Butler as they had about Rudy and Donovan combined.
