2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Or, you could say that if you liked Patrick Williams a few years ago you should love Walker.
I think the hope is he’s more Scottie Barnes… who I think got a tad overrated… not a lot… but when they are like “he’s not on the table if we trade for KD” like calm the hell down.

Any way very good player. Walker could be that I suppose. I like him… just like Hendricks more.

I think Black is closer to being Barnes than Walker.

Having a big playmaker who can control the middle of the floor is a big advantage for any offense. Obviously, Jokic, Lebron and Luka are the prime examples, but every team now is looking for a wing-sized playmaker to operate from the top of the key and in. The Celtics even played through Jayson Tatum as their primary initiator, and he isn't really a natural playmaker.

So I can see the argument for Hood-Schifino based on positional value. I just question whether overall he's really big enough or good enough. But the main thing is that he can control space in the middle of the floor.

I would be perfectly fine with taking him at 16 (if he's still on the board) but I just can't talk myself into taking him at 9. Just too many guys I like more.

He's pretty comparable to Booker imo

One of the things I don't understand are the mocks that have Amen going 3 and Ausar going 9. You should either be all in on both or skeptical of both. NOBODY has enough information to determine that there is that much functional difference between the two. You might as well broadcast "I'm just guessing here!"

There’s also a very realistic scenario where Ausar is the better NBA player on top of that.

Being too prideful is not a positive attribute.

I honestly don’t get why people are trying to dump on Cy for having the stones to very publicly change his mind at an appropriate juncture.

Because he had all of the evidence in front of him before making a dumb claim then a little piece of info comes out that isn’t as bad as what was previously known and he’s off his board completely after being top-10. That’s why.

A prospect quitting in the middle of a team’s workout, then smoking weed in the locker room is not some little piece of info. I’ve never heard of anything that bonkers in the pre-draft process.

GG was garbage all season long. Major work ethic and a player who did nothing to make his teammates around him better. Anyone that had him top 20 from measurable and work outs were ignoring the obvious footage in front of them. His measurables are intriguing….but that’s all I can see at this point

Some posters get hard at the thought they can call me wrong so they will bend their brain to think that was an obvious thing we should have seen coming because he was a chucker who complained about not getting the ball enough
