Kyle Filipowski Hype & Appreciation thread

Well, by the same count he will be equally overwhelmed defensively at the 4 against the likes of Giannis, Zion and Banchero. In reality, he will not be facing them but play against bench 4s and 5s. He could be OK against bench bigs.
I think at least against 4s he could try to move his quick feet and try to stay in front of defenders.

Also he could use his length to cover up some of his deficiencies somewhat.

Maybe in the future he could guard physical 5s but he’ll need to bulk up significantly for that imo.

Here's what I gathered from summer league:

Cody - TMac with McDaniels defense and Durant's shooting

Collier - Westbrook mix with Gary Payton defense

Flip - Dirk with Jokic passing and Lauri athleticism
You struggle to understand things that involve human feelings. For example, in this hawt take you lump together expressions of a thing called “sarcasm” with other, different expressions.

You struggle to understand something called a "joke". Maybe try asking chatGPT what that means.

Ironic that you refer to a joke I once made, which you didn't understand.

Your attempt at using ChatGPT to justify your made up "data exploration" phase was indeed hilarious, I'll give you that. It was almost as funny as you pretending to know what a data transformation is. All this because because I assumed that everyone knew by now that floater range shots are bad shots in this day in age. I do truly apologize for that. There are always those who are slow and I should account for that.

I'll try to explain the new thing that has upset you. Stitches made a joke. I quoted it and made the same joke. Fish went on to quote me and make the same joke. Turns out that we're all joking! I can imagine how confusing that must be to you. It must have been extremely offensive to you that we all made the same joke and you were unable to understand. I don't blame you for randomly coming out of nowhere to send a personal attack. Let's all pledge to do better so we don't confuse people like @NAOS_pt2 .

wow, you're holding onto some deets, honey.

I'll never forget you larping as a data expert., it's easily the funniest thing that has happened on this forum. I am going to bring it up anytime you randomly pop up to try to insult because that **** is funny. I did not expect a joke that multiple people made to be the thing that triggers you, but always a joy. I look forward to the next time you randomly pop in and I once again remind you of chatgpt/larping incident was.

yeah, you didn't get it. Your general confidence is pretty amazing, doe.

The confidence you had to respond to my joke that multiple were making with “you lack the ability to understand human feeling” is unmatched. You really got me on that one! At this moment I am feverishly typing to chatGPT to find ways to console myself from that epic burn.

It’s the same confidence it takes to larp as a data expert and lie about knowing what a data transformation is without thinking someone would notice. Truly amazing.

Anyways, I look forward to the next time you randomly try to insult me and I can laugh at you again. This is the Flip thread.

Wow, misquotes on both timelines. Didn’t realize you were still so butthurt.

It is very, very hard for a defensively a challenged big to become a starter in the modern NBA. It pretty much never happens among the centers and is still very rare among the power forwards. You need to be among the best offensive talents in the league at your position to achieve that (I am not counting tanking teams that need anyone to just take the starter minutes). Kyle will need to demonstrate good scoring and playmaking skills to become a solid bench player and he will need to greatly improve his defense or to become one of the best scoring bigs to become a solid starter. I think the former is considerably more likely.

That’s why I think he’s more suited at the 4, cos he could play next to a defensive center who could help cover up some of his defensive mistakes.

I think if Kyle succeeds, it will most likely be as a 3rd big with some versatility as to who he can play with. He probably will probably always be lacking in important areas to be a full fledged starters. He's the 32nd pick of a draft. If he becomes a long term NBA player he's exceeded expectations.

I didn’t think his defense was that bad. Most of the bigs in summer league were rather small and quick of foot. Bigs in the actual league are bigger and not as fast.

His defensive concern is that he's not big enough and won't be able to protect the rim/rebound well enough. Moving his feet is one of his better defensive attributes.
