Trump often refers to places as "republican" or "democrat" as if an entire community is in political agreement just because the majority vote one way or another. I live in Utah, have my whole life, related to days of 47 type original settlers. I'm neither Mormon or a Republican. It would be so cool to have a voice in local or federal elections here. But I don't. My votes are literally a joke, yet I vote every time anyway.

Every argument for the EC actually works perfectly to abolish it. Six million Californians voted for Trump in 2020. That’s more voters for Trump than Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming COMBINED. Their voices were erased by the electoral college. If the electoral college were abolished, those folks would have a voice. And it would force candidates from both parties to actually compete for their votes.
