Jovan Buha who covers the Lakers for The Athletic said this recently:

"I think Walker Kessler is a name that the Lakers have been interested in that would make a lot of sense"

We’re only two games in and the trade rumors have commenced.

Lakers could probably use another big, but Jaxon Hayes is playing really well. I don't think Rui is a good candidate for matching salaries anymore in a potential Collins trade, but they may be getting tired of Vando being perma injured.

JHS, protections off the 2027 first, and a 2029 first for Kessler. Who says no?

Jonas would make a lot of sense at some point this season, only has a $10M cap hit and the Wizards are in full tank mode

Is there any interest in Jordan Clarkson? And is there any chance that we actually get some value back for him?
The biggest problem with him is there aren’t a ton of suitors that make sense both basketball and salary matching wise.

Don’t think we’re getting value back for Clarkson, but could maybe trade him to a team like CHO. Not many teams that need a guy like him. He would be more useful if he was still a volume 3 point shooter as others have said, but that is not his game anymore.

Clarkson with improved playmaking in the mold of a backup PG and getting his shot back would be sought after at the trade deadline.

Clarkson is 32. He's not gonna change his game at this point. This is how he'll play until he can't play anymore.

He's also a well known quantity around the league. His shot coming and going is not going to affect his trade value (which is zero). Nobody needs an older SG with declining athleticism who can't really play off the ball.

He's changed his game a ton the last 3 years...

The issue is that he has to play PG without other quality playmakers around him.

A player I think we should trade for his own sake is Sexton. If he was going to breakout and become something beyond a sixth man type guard, it won't happen here. I think he's more likely to be traded than Clarkson. They have similar-ish salaries and similar potential destinations, but I think Sexton is more palatable.

CHO is a good trade destination for Sexton/Clarkson IMO. Micic+Martin can be incoming matching salary. Can also throw Eubanks in there if Mark Williams is perma injured and they need more cover at the position.
