2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Ian Begley mentioned Sexton and Kessler with the Lakers but it was really brief... it was on his video/podcast thing.

I get the feeling Kessler is really not available right now. When we talked with Dan Clayton, who is around the team a bit, he mentioned talking to someone that really was like "why would we do that?". So if a Sexton Kessler deal with LA did happen I would expect it to be pretty rich.

Personally I am hoping we do a bait and switch were we send Clarkson for Dlo... we can add Eubanks if they want a center and take JHS and Wood to get them off some salary. If we can save them like $20-30M in luxury tax this year so it self funds the second year of Clarkson. They will have to be just fed up with DLo and ready to be done.... but I can see them getting there.

This is a forum. Methinks you are reading too much in to "intense feelings" about sports rivalries.

And you also assume people care about having a "good look". If you want to know what most of us look like... picture Gary Busey in John Stocktons shorts.
Alrighty. Well, you seem to be having a lot of fun making angry words on a message board. I guess that's better.

My hate for the Nuggets goes WAY back. Being a fan for more than the last 6 years.

Division Rivals
Close proximity
Posers acting like they live in the rockies when that "John Denver is full of sh*t" - Lloyd Christmas
They took Millsap
Dick-embe knocking us out of one of best finals chances
RSL rivalry with the Crapids flowed really well with the Jazz / Nuggets rivalries

Watching them suck balls with Melo at the helm was delightful.

Jock-itch has been nothing short of amazing and makes it hard to hate the butt nuggets.
Millsap was on another team before the nuggets, so that’s not true.

SAC/HOU are the most realistic John Collins destinations imo.

SAS is fine, but all of their guys who be in John’s role are doing just fine. SAC/HOU have massive holes in their front court and it would be a meaningful upgrade.

I also think to move Collins he will have to continue to play well up to the deadline. I dont think he's going to be an early mover.
I think one of Clarkson or Sexton has like a 40-50% chance at getting moved. Collins I think is more like 20-30% chance. I think Eubanks maybe the most likely to get moved as the salary and role match and we might settle on a second or two depending on what the returning salary is.

Cam Johnson likely the biggest mover and I think Sac/SA should be in on that. If the Lakers decide to be aggressive I think we may make a deal but I think they are shopping on a budget.

The Cam Johnson price is going to be extremely high.

Maybe. It should be high and they may not do it... but they are winning even with Schroeder and Thomas out. They can move DFS and have some other levers but it will get late fast on them with the "lead" they have. I think the Warriors could have gotten it done with Kuminga and a pick (maybe a swap too). But you may be right and maybe it was a couple picks and Kuminga.

Jazz are projected to have between 8 and 10 players on rookie contracts next year.

This is not really tenable so it made me think about if the Jazz would trade any of their 7 guys on rookie contracts right now, but I couldn't come up with any possible trades.

This is just way too many guys though. Especially when Cody Williams and Taylor Hendricks will essentially still be rookies next year because they've played so few NBA minutes.

In a spot where I think they have to trade away the Wolves and Cavs picks if they're in the 20s even if they get very little value in return.

Some consolidation can and should be done. Hopefully to move up the draft. I think there are a few older players you could use the Cavs pick on if you are stuck and get someone more ready made but yeah... may need to make some decisions on a couple guys if not.

Hendricks is going to be on the shelf for a while. Maybe he starts playing in the 2nd half of next season.

If history is any guide, the Jazz don't give a long leash to guys who can't shoot. The Jazz could decide to move on from Cody Williams as early as the middle or end of next season unless there's marked improvement. This coming summer is going to be huge for his career.

Collier is probably seen as a backup who can be traded if anyone wants him. His shooting is rock-bottom too right now.

I think the Jazz probably like Brice and Flip as future bench guys.
