The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Giannis has apparently started the convo of leaving Milwaukee... Time for some Ainge big game hunting?

Good thoughts, I’m just not sure if they have anything to trade that we would be looking for. Checking that out now.

Speaking of BOGO trades, we should maybe be targeting Portland as a team to make better (might help with some Jazz and Timberwolves losses).

They have control of their 30, 31, and 32 FRP's. I don't think we'd get a full FRP....but they certainly have enough to get a deal done. If it were up to me I wouldn't need much at all.

Giannis gonna end up in San Antonio... that is my prediction.

I know he wanted NY but they don't have nearly enough to get it done imo.

Look, it's like when you are playing Risk and someone gets off to a huge lead and all the other players have to leave their own best interest aside and gang up against the leader in order to level the playing field.

In this case OKC has the huge lead and the rest of the league needs to gang up to make sure they don't get multiple lottery picks in this draft.

If Chris Paul gets traded to the Jazz and retires right after it will be the most fitting end to his career possible. Of course he goes out like this.
Get him here to coach Keyonte to an even higher level to finish his career here 20 years after we picked Deron over him (who retired 8 years ago!). What more could he wish for?

Oh Man...

- Milwaukee is the worst team in the league without Giannis, but similar to NOP/LAC they don't own their pick.
- This makes the pick that ATL owns that much better.
- I don't think Utah will be in the running for Giannis, but maybe we get involved somehow
- If I were Milwaukee I would prioritize teams that owned my picks, so I can get them back. I used to know who they are.
- Milwaukee is in such a bad position with the dead money from Dame making it difficult to build a good team, but with no picks to add talent.

The list of possible things that make going for it this season a good idea is probably this one idea long.

Atlanta is in pole position. New Orleans is so ****ing dumb and Dumars should be under investigation by the FBI for that trade.
I think its San Antonio.

But it also makes Milwaukee's own pick good... since NOP are trash. So I guess they would have motivation to tank. Great... the 2026 tank race is so damn crowded.

With flattened odds you are playing with fire there. You have to be bad enough to maximize your pick, but be good enough to not have too good of a chance that your pick is better than NOP. There are probably too many likely scenarios where you lose out on an amazing pick that I think you just play it straight.

If the Spurs send out Fox in a Giannis deal it’s incredible for them. Two birds one stone type of deal. They will probably have to Fox+Castle or Harper. It’s worth it for them.

Just praying that ATL is able to sneak in there somehow.

Right but now that they will suck either way... at least they will likely have a pick in the 7-10 range instead of nothing I guess. If their pick jumps top 4 and they get the NOP pick at 6 or 7 then its an okay outcome. They don't lose the total benefit of being awful since NOP are also awful.

I think its Harper and they try to win with Wemby, Giannis, Fox. I wouldn't take any substitutes for Fox or the Pelicans pick if I am moving Giannis. NY probably tries and Giannis probably makes some threats that may make the price value in range... but NY will need some serious help to pull it off.

If I’m the Spurs, I’m keeping Harper over Fox and Castle, but it’s freaking Giannis so you get him whatever it takes. Giannis and Wemby is just ridiculous.

ATL could maybe get in there. They have the premium draft assets (which are half MIL owned). Jalen Johnson and Giannis isn’t as clean of a fit, but again, it’s freaking Giannis.

sucks for Harper, if so. I don't know how MIL can put a reasonably good team around him.
