I wish we had better defensive guards… but Sexton is on the same general skill level defensively as every other guard on the team and Mitchell when he was on the Jazz over the past 2-3 seasons. So while I agree that isn’t great… I don’t recall you losing it on all of them like you do on Sexton.

I’m a big Sexton fan, but the advanced numbers would say he is a little worse at D than Mike. However, those numbers could be skewed if the Jazz normally hid Mike on their defensive scheme. He is on par with Clarkson on D and better than Mitchell was on D for the past two seasons with the Jazz.

I don’t really understand the Sexton hate… the Jazz seem to flow better when he is on the court, and he makes fewer mental errors than JC, THT or NAW. He does seem to be on an extremely short leash though.

It’s more about showcasing that they have value to their current team. If someone isn’t getting off the bench on your team it puts you in a difficult position to negotiate from a position of strength.
