What's new

1280 zone NOW!

Kanter started saying something and then the PR guy walked by and motioned or said something to him. Locke kept asking Kanter "what?" and told him to just say it. Kanter said he started to say something he shouldn't or something. Then he said, "The five young guys should have played more." Then, like mentioned above, said if it's a rebuilding year then why not play them.

Locke started playing Devil's Advocate with him and explained what the phrase meant and asked him about Favors playing better with Kanter on the bench, how Kanter doesn't quite help the team win yet ("they're better with you off the floor"), etc. Kanter's handled it well and said that he and Favors need more time together to learn how to play with each other more/better.

The interview should be posted here soon:

Bloody, freakin hell! Way to go, Locke. You are now down as my least favorite reporter....EVER!
Kanter doesn't help the team win? Yep, because obviously it was his fault JLIII and Old Man Tinsley were running the team during the big losing streak. And the times he started instead of Favors? Yep, the team isn't any weaker by deducting a core player. So the blind squirrels found an acorn last night. I'm sure it had nothing to do with Love and some other TWolves playing at half-speed.

Locke is nothing but a Jazz shill. He'll say whatever management wants him to. They'll ride Kanter into the ground to try to turn public opinion against him. Kanter is gone, given Lindsey's monetary commitment to Derrick and Favors' comments about not wanting to be a center. Better hope the Jazz luck into Embiid or Gobert turns into Hakeem.

Locke is such a hater. Does he really think Jazz fans will side with him over Kanter on this one?

Kanter should know better than that. The Jazz erased their bench as part of the tank strategy and needed a couple guys off the bench to cover for it. They were also trying to boost Marvin's and R Jeff's trade value.

Untrue.
There was a deal for Marv for a late first round pick, but DL didn't take it. DL says he believes Marv can be a part of the future.

I don't think does anything to hurt Kanter. I bet Kanter said the same thing to the Jazz brass, and I bet the Jazz brass agreed with him. Now, if you are Utah, use that against Kanter. You know he will work hard, tell him what you want, and what you expect. Tell him you expect him to be able to start right away next year, and you expect him to be able to stretch the defense so he and Favors will be more effective together.

Locke followed up Kanter's comments with some seriously mean questions. He might have always planned on being a little tough on Kanter, but the timing and the tone of them made it seem like Locke was trying to put Kanter in his place. Does Locke really think that's his job? Then he went on to insinuate that he had even more criticisms--harsher ones even--but he was going to spare Kanter in order not to make him mad.

If I was Kanter I'd be pissed. Sometimes I appreciate Locke for his energy and enthusiasm, but he can be such a weasel.
